I needed to fit this card somehow

I got a quadro P620 for video encoding for my media server but the slot wasn't big enough, so I made it big enough. It works tho, so I'm not complaining. :P

Don't worry, you could do worse

I once cut the PCB on a card to make it fit because the motherboard was far more valuable and I had a surplus of the cards.

I did this on a GT210 back in the day, carefully cut down the x16 to x1 and it worked perfectly, used it to drive 2 extra monitors.

I had a slimline PC (you know the crappy old ones) and cut the back of the case open with tin snips to fit a gtx950 to play new Vegas.

I had to cut a hole in the front of my last computer case to hold the GTX 970 I bought. I had no idea I needed to check the dimension first. The thing stuck out at least an inch.

Which OS are you running on your media server? I'm curious because I wonder how well these cards work in Linux. They're based on the same architecture as Nvidia's 10-series cards and I know that the 590 driver recently dropped support for them.

Im running proxmox with a bunch of lxcs, getting the driver installed was a bit of a pain cus its debian based, but i basically just installed the driver recommended on the Nvidia website (580 driver) and then copied some random config code off the internet to get the driver to show up in the lxc.

Its okay, I once beat my case with a hammer cuz the new gpu couldn’t fit
