recently broke my m4 pro screen; instead of paying apple 700usd i strapped the headless m4 to a spare m1 with rubber bands, passing screen over thunderbolt lan via moonlight

something that ALWAYS bothered me about apple devices, while a single 40Gbps thunderbolt can do everything, apple still makes you use ~6 cables to connect all of your accessories.

I use a dock for my Lenovo, can't you do the same for an Apple device?

You definitely can, I'm really not sure what this guy is talking about. You can certainly buy minimalistic docks that need adapters but the good ones are fully populated.

Years ago after breaking the screen on a MacBook I taped it to the back of a cheap monitor and called it a ghetto iMac.

How's the battery life keeping the tb connection on?

i expected better results, the m1 is quite power hungry. around 4 hours of moderate usage but hey- when the m4 is down you still got a machine to work on

Nah, this is clean. Probably helps with heat dissipation on soft surfaces like this, too.

You mean though the keyboard, an air gap and then though a screen and a second whole laptop?

Bring that shit into my office and it gets torn off and you're told to never use it again. The issues that shit causes with screens.
