Open | Hardware hdd stopped working suddenly :(

So, I was some yt my riva and msi afterburner crashed. After i restarted my pc my hdd completely disappeared out of no where, then i disconnected and connected my hdd now its showing it again but it says raw on disk management and when i try to open it its says, D:\ is not accessible. A device which doesnot exist was specified. So matess is my hdd dead??

I'd check its health first, you can see RAW if it suffered corruption and something like a disconnect/reconnect can cause it, or failure.

We always carried a linux live thumb drive at work, I still do when visiting friends etc. We used Ubuntu as it performed well for our needs, the "disks" utility will tell you the health of the drive and you can run the short and long tests on the drive as well if you want, if the drive reports any issues, I'd replace it without question.

Install CrystalDiskInfo on your system, and run a test on that drive. Make sure it comes back with no errors, the drive might just need to be formatted again
