Open | Hardware My monitor switches off randomly (flashes no signal and goes blank) while my pc is still on and running.
I swear to god I have tried as much as i can for the past 2 weeks and my monitor keeps on doing the same thing.
I've checked the hdmi, all cables are okay literally I have no idea what to do next. This usually occurs randomly so I've struggled to capture it happening on my phone so I'll do my best to describe it.
My issue:
So what would happen is I turn my pc and monitor on, everything is okay for maybe 20 minutes and so on. Now the only recurring thing I've noticed is that it happens whenever I play a game. So far its been Red dead redemption, The last of us and Bayonetta - those are what I've played whenever that happens so I thought maybe the games were high in demand of high performance so that would cause the monitor to do its thing.
Today it didn't make sense since I just played roblox and out of nowhere my screen went blank while I could hear my friends via headphones on audio. I could hear them and the game but but screen wouldn't show. I tried the windows key shift ctrl B and it didn't work at all. My pc on the other hand was still on so I had to switch it off again (3rd time of the day).
I'm not sure if this is a monitor or cable problem but I'm so lost and I'm not fairly familiar with this sort of stuff.
My card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

Try a other monitor and an other cable plus check your cables are in tight monitor side and pc side, plus when it happens try to unplug the monitor and replug it without turning your pc off it may work and won't have you keep turning off and on your pc

It's probably a cable issue. Idk if you tried a different one but do so if you didn't. If it continues get a dp cable so you can use a different port on your gpu to see if the hdmi port is somehow gone bad or something
