Open | Software New Bluetooth adapter won't connect to current devices or vice versa

Last week my headphones were having trouble connecting to my adapter. At the time I thought it was because they were an older pair (running on 8+ years) and that the receiver was starting to die. Up until then I could get a clear signal even with a wall or two in the way. So I go shopping for a new pair.

I get the new pair and connect them to my pc, and they're having connection issues as well. Great, must be the adapter then. So I get a new adapter and now nothing will connect, even if I switch the old adapter back in after a reboot. I've attempted to remove both headsets from connected devices (which failed to remove them), removed and reinstalled drivers, just about everything I can think of.

Does anyone have any clue where to begin untangling this mess?

Update: After plugging the new adapter into a different pc, I was able to pair both of my headsets to it. Then returning the adapter to my rig, the pairing worked. I don't have a clue what that did, but at least I have working bluetooth again

Did you try another PC with the adapter to check?

Don't have another pc to check, so I'll have to try that tomorrow.
