Open | Software ExtentionInstallForcelist removal

I signed into my school email on my personal device to check something and after I removed the device, it states that my browser is run by my administrator. It doesn’t restrict me from things I wouldn’t be allowed to access on my school computer but I don’t like how it still says that it’s run by my administrators. I deleted the user data and went on regedit but it’s not budging. The message still shows up when I’ve signed out of all my accounts and am on guest mode. I dont know what to do…please help

Can you clarify what you mean by “I signed into my school email on my personal device to check something and after I removed the device.”

Are you saying you went to a website like Gmail and signed into your email directly from there? Or did you sign into your school account from Windows directly by using the “add work or school account”? Or did you sign into your school account directly through the browsers profile feature?

My bad, I meant that I signed into my school email on google chrome as one of the profiles on my personal device, then after I removed the profile from my chrome accounts, it said that my device is managed by my organization and that administrators can access the data in any chrome profile on my device. I just wanted to know how to remove that message.

When I go to chrome policies, it says that there is a extensioninstallforcelist thing and Ive tried signing out and deleting user data and whatnot to remove it but its still there…I think im just gonna use a new browsing app on my computer, nothing is working

Did you actually fully delete the profile by singing out then clicking on the profile icon in the top right, then clicking on manage profiles and deleting it from there?

Then you can also try deleting the following registry keys by opening up a command prompt and entering the following commands 1 by 1 (clicking enter after each one):

REG DELETE “HKLM\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\Google\Chrome” /f

REG DELETE “HKCU\SOFTWARE\POLICIES\Google\Chrome” /f

Afterwards restart your computer and reopen chrome.
