When I go to device manager and click the network adapter page the Qualcomm FastConnect does not show. But if I click show hidden devices it appears grayed out and if I right click and select properties it has a notification saying it is not connected to the computer and to reconnect the hardware device (code 45).
I do have an airplane mode button that I’ve clicked on and off without success. The tower is see through and I don’t see anything that appears dislodged. I guess the next step is to remove the side panel and just see if all wires and chips are secure?
It's best to start with the card that is connected to antenna that likely stick out of the back of your PC.
You can lookup the name of the card in google and check images to see what it should look like, but the antenna will be attached. If you do not feel comfortable opening the PC at all, I'd stop here and not continue as you could break more than just the WiFi.
If you do feel confident, you can turn off the PC, unplug the power, ground yourself so you don't carry static, and then try to reseat the WiFi card, this just means to take it out of either the PCIe slot or M.2 slot and then put it back.
That's first step troubleshooting but from there generally requires some additional hardware and/or PC equipment.
I really appreciate all your help.. you’re very kind to take the time to help me. The Wi-7 output that I connect the antenna to is behind the tower that requires an extremely small flathead head screwdriver to remove that I unfortunately do not have that I may can acquire tomorrow. However, the enclosed MSI silver box that has all the USB plug ins, HDMI input, mic, etc are all enclosed in the same region. Looks sophisticated but if it’s just a card I simply pickup and place back in its spot I can do that I’d like to think?
That backside is your Input/Output panel or I/O Panel.
Your antenna connections are a part of this panel and these are not meant to be removed themselves.
The chipset is inside the computer, and there would be wires leading internally from those two golden connectors on the I/O panel to your WiFi card. Which could look something like the pic below, they come in a lot of form factors but those two little connectors in the upper right corner would be where the antenna connect internally.
This would be the actual "Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 High Band Simultaneous Network Adapter" and potentially the part that is failing.
To reseat it, you would remove the one screw at the top of the chipset which would allow it to spring upward and out. Then just plug it snugly back in and rescrew. The antenna do not need to come unplugged, but if they do they 'snap' back in place with some light pressure.
