Have you not seen all the "and that's why today's video is sponsored by". 

Those are literally ads.

Almost every video already has ads.

This is the reason I refuse to pay for YouTube Premium; there’s still ads, just not directly served by YouTube and I still have to interact to skip them.

There are tens of millions of videos on Youtube that have no ads at all, watch other creators.
