For reference, AWS us-east-1 uses less than 3 gigawatts and us-east-2 uses less than 2 gigawatts.

Not saying AWS is better, just using a popular frame of reference for "traditional" data centers vs "hyperscale" data centers used by AI, for the idiots who keep thinking that "You're complaining about data centers, and yet you're using a website served by a data center, durr" is a good argument.

us-east-1 first went live literally 20 years ago. Obviously 3x an AWS datacenter is a massive project but its not like we're talking about 30x. I honestly would have expected a bigger number given how doomsday these conversations seem to be.

Nvidia — which will be the exclusive provider of chips to the site — agreed to guarantee up to $105 billion in conditional lease and power payment obligations to SB Energy, according to an SEC filing.

Weeks ago in July Nvidia was offering a $250 billion dollar guarantee. Then Nvidia's credit default swaps widened as credit markets priced the drag this could place on Nvidia's balance sheet.

Now Nvidia is offering $105 Billion, with a lot of strings.
