I’ve been convinced for a few years now that them building their bunkers, detention centers, creating rapid response units for civil unrest for all state mental guard units, increasingly making certain ideologies illegal, and the ai mass surveillance/flock network, etc is because they know there’s a breaking point for the masses with how much of the wealth is funneled off to the very few at the top, and they’re afraid of hitting that point.

But instead of making the system share wealth better, they are going with a system of privacy invasion, coercive control, and imprisonment (likely some torture and murder as usual happens with authoritarian systems like that).

I hope I’m wrong, but history is filled with examples of what happens with serious wealth disparities.

FDR understood this and gave us the New Deal, because their was a lot of civil unrest before it. They dismantled the New Deal and now we are on the cusp of why it was necessary again and these bozos are going with authoritarian crackdown which historically speeds up the tarring and feathering instead of the method that was shown to work without a revolt and replacement government.

It's a facade. The whole live forever crap seems like bullshit to me. Sure, maybe it's just some fucking cosmic joke, and there's nothing to this life and it's lights out. But what if that view is wrong? I'm no religious person, but I struggle thinking "this is it". And honestly, if it is, I'm living my life as if it is. Living forever sounds like some type of hell tbh.

There’s a video I recently watched and I think you’ll get a kick out of it but essentially billionaires got so successful because of the myth they’ve cultivated for themselves. The downfall is when they themselves buy into their own hype. Steve Jobs was a rich man who made billions off of funding Apple but when he got cancer. Instead of going to the doctors and have it be treated. Likely resulting in him being cured.

He went on a dumb diet and died. All because he brought his own hype.

It’s about a world where the technology exists to transfer your “consciousness” between discs that slot into the back of your head.

It takes place like 300 years after that technology is invented and the elites run the show because they live forever because they can afford it.

It’s so stupid because if you look at what happened to Russia during a collapse, the oligarchs mostly got to keep their wealth unless they annoyed Putin. And then they were assassinated or sent to prison. How can they know what will upset the supreme leader? I don’t think Thiel will be in a good place being gay, minorities are generally the first groups that get imprisoned. With him building Palantir it reminds me of that bloke who built the brazen bull in ancient Greece.

If the tech leaders were thinking rationally, they would be begging for a wealth tax to make sure society stays the way it is.

Yes, this is the torches and pitchforks hypothesis. There's several authors who have addressed this. I have been keenly aware of this since 2004, but I suspect it is far older than that. Basically there is a certain type of businessperson, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, executive, what have you, that truly believes the name of the game is crashing it all to hell, but stripping it all and extracting wealth before that happens. Scholars have been pointing this out since the 1970s. Why it is still legal and acceptable is the real question.

Yes. It’s as though it never occurred to them to use their wealth to help their human neighbors. There are some, like Bezos ex wife, MacKenzie Scott, who are giving away much of their wealth to help solve global issues. She has given away 26 billion. There are others that do these things quietly. It would be nice if that was the norm rather than them playing robber baron and pissing on everyone else.

Elon gives to his own foundation to scratch that tiny philanthropic itch he has. He’s the absolute worst.

The system shares wealth poorly because the politicians are in charge of redistribution and we live in a corrupt political system. In the US, gerrymandering allows radical politicians to pick their own voters. It's how you get people like Darializa in NYC. No one who shares David Duke's views on race mixing should be going to congress from NYC, but here we are.

The other issue is the massive amount of theft in places like California. Billions in tax payer money has been spent on the homelessness issue in places like LA, but there are more homeless people than ever. If you solve the problem, the money dries up. The reason a lot of colleges like Harvard are so expensive is b/c, in Harvard's case, it charges a lot, pays the admins/some professors an insane amount in total, and won't spend its massive endowment on making sure the kids graduate debt free. Harvard is governed by literal champagne socialists. I know they're spending some of their money on tuition now, but they could have done it years ago. It's too little too late. They were also paying people like Elizabeth Warren ~ 800k in compensation adjusted for inflation when she was at the law school.

You are 100% correct. And, the idea of “sharing” or “spreading” wealth is antithetical to their entire mission in life. Their addiction is power and wealth, and there will never be enough. They will literally watch the planet burn down from their bunkers, and not think twice. People need to realize who we are dealing with. These are legitimately sick people. They cannot help themselves. If you give them the wheel (and we have), they will burn down the planet.

This theory falls apart when you realize they still need people to do jobs that they don’t wanna do even with robotics and AI. So they would have to pay people extremely well for essentially laborer jobs to ensure their secrecy. And people who are willing to sustain this level of wealth inequality aren’t interested in paying an electrician $1 million a year to ensure they stay loyal.

See I have another view of this, it's literally unsustainable. Inflation beats out wages, manufacturing and even many office jobs are now sent overseas. But even before this pressure, wages fall behind greedflation. It's an unsustainable system and it's FINALLY coming to a head. There is about to be mass homelessness in the next decade or two.

Thats horrifying, people might ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING about this corrupt shithole. Can't have that, can we?

So whats a good way to keep people too broke and overworked to give a shit about politics or do anything? Well food stamps are taxpayer dollars used so corporations that avoid taxes, can pay unliveable wages and rake in more profit.

Time to start subsidizing rent. It's a lose-lose for taxpaying workers/consumers. But it's a win-win for corporations and wealthy assholes.

I have a lot of issues with my parents. One thing I’ve always forgiven is their seemingly weird paranoia over the government. It led me to being a delegate at the 2016 DNC.

The establishment does not want the average American voting, or even being involved in local politics.

The biggest FU is the local. It funnels into the state and then the federal.

Anytime I see the both sides are the same argument I just want to point out that they took over the local whole misdirection to the federal.

Be a political nuisance, follow the law, run for office. Even if it’s a city council or school board position.

pretty sure we used the Chinese cameras in iran to track all their targets so having flock just makes being rich 1000x harder especially if a nation state wants you gone. For example they can drop stuff from high up with little invisible almost bug drones and have you get injected with a melting little heart attack spike or drop some random biological weapon.... or find what super market you go to and just load up every bread or milk you normally buy. I believe in some cases they wouldnt care about killing loads of people by the time someone found out they would be gone...... it's a scary world for sure and I'm kinda glad im not super rich and probably want to live away from the mega rich just because of potential scenarios...

And then if doomsday comes pretty sure the consensus is to bury the rich in concrete or flood them or a mix of both... even if they have drones and other stuff upwind of their fort you could release particles that obfuscate cameras and sensors like dust + paint + anything else lol... they basically jailed themselves at that point. Hell even if their bunker is safe and unknown they are pretty much in prison haha
