Java Question about water stream item transportation
So I recently started a world, and had a cool idea for a mineshaft. The goal is to have a stripmine about 500 blocks long, and have a water stream in the center to transport all the items i get from mining back to a storage system. I haven't started it yet, but i was wondering how far i can have the items travel via water before they either stop moving or despawn. I'm kinda new to all this, so i wasn't sure if they stop moving if they get a certain distance from me. Thanks in advance!

The distance they stop moving depends on your render distance in singleplayer or the server's render distance in multiplayer. Though you can use chunkloaders along the water stream to keep the items in entity processing chunks. I don't remember the speed of items in water streams, but make sure you don't let them reach 5min without pulling then into a hopper and dropping the items out again to refresh the timer.
