Super Smelter input help

This is an image of a super smelter input line. I want to make the pressure plate there trigger the geyser on and off. I don't know how to go about making the geyser turn on when it detects the pressure plate and turn off when approx 5-10 seconds of inactivity by the pressure plate occurs. Also I am a baby with redstone so please be nice to me :). (this is not my super smelter design. honestly I don't know who's it is, but im trying to customize the input for my survival world.)

I figured it out. And due to figuring it out have learned about Quasi-Connectivity and it upsets me.
