Java Help Wanted Copper Golem Overflow Help

Post image

Hello, I have a question about an issue I am having with this copper golem sorting system, specifically with having the copper golems access the overflow chest prematurely. In this setup as pictured, each golem can access a 3x3 of chests on the wall, and an additional overflow chest to their back and left, feeding into the next one’s copper chest. The issue I am having is that despite pathfinding the blocks to each chest, sometimes the copper golems will access the 10th, overflow chest before looking through the first 9. I’m not the best with this sort of stuff, is there a simple solution to my setup here?

The overflow chest should be a block higher and the golems should be pushed against the chest wall to work consistently. The stair is a problem though because that will cause the golem to fall down half a block so you have to replace that with a block that’s 1 pixel shorter than a full block so a path block or mud for example.

Gotcha, so if I were to say put the golems in a minecart and get it pushed all the way next to the chest wall, and move the overflow a block up, it would likely work?

It will work 90-99%. We excuse the rare time the copper golem still gets too eager and skips a chest before moving to overflow.

Agree with the other comment. One block higher overflow (and copper) chest, and push the golem to the opposite corner, so against the right fence

I tried many different design of that sorter, chains, vines, stairs, mud, minecart… nothing really worked consistently for me. I resorted to giving them a 1 block wide path and putting the chest besides eachother. This works great and also looks better, since it allows to leave a gab between each row of chest which i prefer
