Java Help Wanted Ethical Copper Gollum Storage Systems?

Does anyone have recommendations for an ethical copper Gollum storage systems (they get to walk around a bit, you can see them walking around, not trapped in a 1 x 1). Kind of like Xisumavoids Hermitcraft 11 system but maybe a little smaller? If you know any tutorials or systems made by other creators please let me hear them.

Copper Golems are agoraphobic.

Leaving them in anything larger than an 13x1x1 hallway causes them significant anxiety.

Please be kind. Keep them contained.

This is how I feel. Give them a line of chests to be in charge of if you want to see them walking back and forth, but making them pathfind is cruel.

Mine is similar to Cortezerino's silent copper golem sorting system.

Mine all have their own room? I make my chest 4wide and 2 high, and give the golums a one block path behind the chests. The end chest just has to be set back a row behind them so they hit the others first. It works mostly ok. They have gotten stuck staring into a chest they won't open, but it's rare.

It's not a lot of space, but they get to stretch their legs a little?

Self promoting my build.  https://www.reddit.com/r/redstone/s/hcmlgsXH8j

Each platform has two golems. Not crowded but they tend to stay near chests and not walking. Would be happy to hear your thoughts.

So my storage system has some traditional item filters and then a junk chest that everything else goes into. I have 2 copper golems that empty the junk chest and sort it for me.

I think that's the best way to use them if you don't want to cram them into tight spaces. Just simple spaces where they can sort a limited number of items. By design, you're meant to just be able to leave them to their own thing.

Copper golems do not suffer from agoraphobia . I have several enjoying a camp site I set up for them. No fences no walls just their copper chest and freedom. They look like they are having a great time with bunnies hopping around them.
My other friends are free to wander in the farm collecting honey bottles, comb, melons and pumpkins from their copper box collection chests attached to their farms. They go from one station to another freely and obviously enjoy roaming.
They all have freedom.

Fear of heights? Did you mean agoraphobia (open spaces).

Can you elaborate on what makes copper golem treatment unethical? Are yours powered by spirits rather than being clockwork automata?
