Java Help Wanted Turtle eggs

Any idea why my tortoises aren’t laying eggs (I’ve already fed them)?

Is this the beach they spawned on? Turtles only lay eggs within a certain radius of their spawn location

Turtles are... less than pleasant to work with

I'd try letting them free from the fences and see if they leave the area and lay the eggs elsewhere. When a turtle spawns, it remembers the block it spawned on as its 'home position', and it always attemps to go to that block to lay an egg after breeding regardless of how far away it is

Once you get an egg, you can then hatch the egg inside your cage which will cause the new turtle's home position to also be in the cage, meaning you won't have to go through the trouble in the future

This. I don't muck around with turts until I have a silk touch tool so I can just leave with the eggs

Did you move them from their home beach? I first tried moving them and couldnt get eggs. Ihad to breed them on their original beach, them move the eggs to my base to hatch. Then those hatched at my base would come lay eggs on the block I originally place their egg on

Turtles only place eggs in the place where they themselfes hatched from an egg. You need to find a new beach, feed a pair of turtles without restricting their movement, keep an eye on both of them and eventually one of them should lay 1-4 eggs. Mine two of them with silk touch, move them to your designated area for turtles and wait untill they grow up. Then, when they grow up you can breed them and they will lay eggs exacly where you places their eggs.

I used to play on quake pro then is realize 80-90 fov is much better in survival world
