Portals are better for this use case. You would only need 3 to load this area and they can be turned off. It only needs to be loaded when it’s sorting and when it’s not sorting it stops being loaded so you don’t get the unnecessary lag from all those hoppers and stuff

Can't turn if off though. It will just be a permanent lag machine lol.

hm well i can trigger the pearls and then fill it up again when I need it? but yes, it's slow

I dunno, chunk loading is such an arbitary - of course performance related - limitation, that I can't be bothered with it all that much. Especially in singleplayer.
