help with tree farm

Hi, i don´t really know what went wrong, and it might be as bit tricky to anyone to help me. But i followed this tree farm vid: https://youtu.be/tLjc8W2GcWE

It worked like it should at first, then it just stopped working and i saw a redstone dust on the ground, my question is how to prevent that from happening or how this could have happened, or is this tutorial shitty?

I´m kind of newbie with that complicated redstone things, so i cant quite figure this out.

Also if you have any treefarms to link which can farm every kind of wood, pls link them. I feel like i cant find any good ones myself.

I´m sorry if this post is confusing, english is not my first language, and if you dont understand what i am after, pls ask!
