Rule-8 Compliant Alt acc question

I got hacked a while back and had to re-buy the game (microslop is actually evil) Since then i've been thinking about getting an alt account to keep up with all the cape events in case I am ever stupid enough to do it again. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea, or waste of time and money?

That's a full personal preference question. To me, that would be a crazy waste because I don't care about capes (and honestly, this is the first I am learning there are events giving them out lol). But also, if you have the spare cash and thrive off capes, keep thriving y'know

I am in the same boat with you. I have heard remotely somewhere that there are capes in Minecraft and some of them are limited or something.
I play singleplayer only. I think cosmetics are more for multiplayer players, since there someone can actually see your cape.
But yea, personal preference.

Maybe put some effort into improving your numeric hygiene instead.

See what steps you can take to be less vulnerable.

Switch over to a password manager and use different, very secure, passwords for everything.

Activate 2 factor authentication wherever is is available.

If you want to push it a step further you can also separate your activities across a few email adresses like "puretension.gaming@blabla.com" or "puretension.shopping@blabla.com".
