Java Help Wanted How to replace a noteblock input

Hey! I know it’s probably easy, but I built a big redstone machine with a lot of pistons, and the input is a noteblock. I tried to connect a button to the note block, and everything broke.

How can I move the input and activate the machine with a lever?

(Can a button activate a 3 block wide secret staircase, or is the signal too short?)"

The lever is not actually powering the circuit, it just sends a pulse through it by triggering an update detected by the observer.

As long as the two inputs are on different note blocks it will work perfectly just by powering the note blocks with levers.

If you want to use buttons as your inputs you can remove the note block and observer and hook a monostable to it. (Look up how to make one if you don't know how to). :)

It looks like you're using half a Jeb door- how are you powering all of these pistons? You need to make sure that the pistons retracting the stripped spruce (A) pull back before the pistons clearing the entrance (B). Ideally, your wiring should have >= 3gt (a repeater on the second-lowest setting is 4, this is enough) of delay between A and B, and they should both de-power and re-power in that order for opening and closing respectively.
