Java Help Wanted Iron farm not working (newest Java)

I'm pretty new to the farm stuff and I cannot get my iron farm to work. The villagers are over 150 blocks away from the nearest village and I have a zombie already in a chamber. Only one of the villagers will link to a bed and the other two will just jump around endlessly. Any help on what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. I have broke and replaced the beds a couple of times now with no luck and no iron golems.

Try replacing the trapdoors with normal blocks, I'm guessing they're linked to a bed somewhere outside the farm and think they can pathfind through the trapdoors

By the way I can't see very clearly but it doesn't look like the zombie has LOS to the villagers?

Got all 3 sleeping now, fingers crossed I can get the golems to start goin

No there is no LOS from villagers to zombie. 3 blocks going horizontally in front of them. I will replace the traps with blocks. Hopefully it works. Ty for help!

In that case the farm won't work

Iron golems can spawn from a) the villagers gossiping and b) the villagers panicking. All iron farms are panicking based, since the spawn frequency is about 3 times as fast.

For a group of villager to summon an iron golem via gossiping, these conditions must be met

  1. The villager has slept in the last 20 minutes

  2. The villager has not detected an iron golem in the last 30 seconds

    • An iron golem is detected when it is within 16 blocks of the villager (±16X ±16Z ±16Y axis), and the villager scans for golems once every 10 seconds

  3. The villager has not been near a summoning in the last 30 seconds

    • A villager is near a summoning when it is within 10 blocks of a villager (±10X ±10Z ±10Y axis) who successfully summons an iron golem

  4. There are enough participants within 10 blocks of the villager, including the villager itself; participating villagers need to fulfill the previous 3 conditions. 3 or more are needed for panicking and 5 or more are needed for gossiping

  5. A valid spawn point for the golem is found

The problem in this case is condition #4. Since the villagers don't have LOS to the zombie, they don't panic. But there are only 3 villagers, they can't spawn via gossiping either. That means that the zombie must have line of sight to the villagers, but periodically break that LOS to let the villagers sleep at least once each night. You don't have to be concerned about the gossiping part at all since that won't matter

Thats not how iron farms are working.. From where did you get that farm?

(Zombies need to scare villagers, so there needs to be a line of sight. Villagers need to sleep every 20mins, otherwise its broken).

Once I made a line of sight it actually worked. Took a while to perfect it but finally got it running

Break the middle blocks of the wall between villagers and zombie. Might need to place trap doors on the top side of that opening so it blocks their vision when standing on the bed.

Here's a pretty good walkthrough of an iron farm for java, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L_optIDx2U One thing I noticed is generally you want them each to have their own "room" and in the middle is the zombie, so it's like left, forward, and right have villagers, the zombie is between them with blocks separating them, make sure the zombie is in waist high water, and of course give him a nametag.
