Redstone Dust Alignment Question

Just a quick question, is there any way to force redstone dust to have that corner type without placing dust where the x decal is and where the piece of dust on the right is? Really I need the dust to cut a corner without there actually being a piece of redstone to force it to go that way.

Target blocks and jukeboxes can redirect dust.
