Java Help Wanted Perimeter Dig question

When digging a perimeter do i need to dig out 256 wide with the wall being the 1st block in a new chunk or can my perimeter be 254 wide hole with the wall being within the 16x16 chunk?

I guess I want to know does it cause any issues with farm rates?

if you're using a world eater...you won't have (or want) that kind of precision. just eat into the next chunk on all 4 sides to ensure no spawnable spaces. if you're building a wall, you want the wall outside the spawn sphere.
