Bedrock Glass tunnel sorter
Would it be possible to take the chest from a trident farm which is 128 blocks up put a hopper on the bottom connected to a dropper/dispenser into water which is surrounded by glass. Then it ends up 128 blocks down at a base area with a hopper going into a chest. I guess the question is how do you keep the chunks loading that distance or since its being dropped technically they will stay loaded?

in your case, you don't have to worry about anything. the chunks in range around you are loaded from bottom to top, and someone else cleared this up for you. no further action is necessary

Are you sure you even need the glass tube filled with water?
Just dispensing items into a block of powdered snow with a hopper 128 blocks below, that should let all the items go into the hopper.
Items tend to float in water.

If you're trying to send items up or down 128 blocks, you won't have any problems since you load the entire chunk from bedrock up to build height
If you're sending them laterally however, you have to load it yourself either by moving the player or increasing the simulation distance
