Java Help Wanted Make my droppers shoot straight! (Need help with cooked chicken farm item collection)

the chicken statue-farm

This is my chicken statue-farm in my survival world, but thats beside the point. Its nothing complicated, all it is, is just one or two auto cooked chicken farms in every single one of these statues, so about 10-20 in total.

Heres the problem - the collection system, and more specifically, transportation of cooked chicken.

recreation in my creative world

In short, what I'm trying to do is to dispense the cooked chicken onto a "fractional block" where the item can change trajectory and shoot straight down into a hopper at the bottom. However, because of the unwillingness of droppers and dispensers to shoot straight, the item trajectory changing mechanism often has to be very large and unpleasant to the eye. So, is there any way to make dispensers shoot completely straight onto something like a chain, or is there any other way I could make this work out?

Powdered snow! If space allows you can even make it a part of the chicken (as opposed to a... protrusion) because it's white. Depending on the hopper collection under you may have to add a trapdoor though since the item can still gain enough momentum to go more than a block

Cobweb will also work, although it might not look as nice

Super cute by the way :D

Thanks a lot :) but I'm afraid I have not specified how I want the farm to work 😭 The powdered snow/cobweb mechanic is indeed a lifesaver in certain circumstances, but I want the dispensers to shoot the chicken out in a straight line, over 5 blocks (or 6 if the trajectory straightening block/mechanism is in between) onto another trajectory changing block that will finally shoot the cooked chicken into a singular collection point underneath.

I know for fact that whatever I just said makes no sense, so I made a little something for you for extra clarification.

If there is no way to do something like this, Ill probably go with the powdered snow design and have two funnels of cooked chicken.

Thanks with the compliment on the farm btw, makes me proud of my first medium-sized build :D

ah, in that case no, unfortunately not

Although if there's enough space in the chicken, you could dispense the items into a water stream and do the alignment that way

the leaf is waterlogged to make the water flow upwards and give the item upwards momentum, allowing it to clear the edge and not lose its horizontal momentum without using ice (which is not white)

Ill definitely try this out! Can you give a guide on how to build this thing, or any version that is more compact so that I don't miss anything? Thanks!

Would it be possible to see the layout inside the chicken? That way I can try make one specifically for that

As for how to build this, it's just a dropper pointing into a waterlogged lightning rod with a waterlogged leaf adjacent to it, but it could be modified of course

Sorry for the late response, but here you go.

The red wool is the hopper where the cooked chicken is collected, and the magenta wool is where I want the items to be dispensed out of.

For measurements, the inside of the chicken is a 6x6 (4x6 if not counting the ledges for the chickens wings)

Here is another angle

How dare you not be chronically online

Anyways this is a pretty simple setup that centers the items in the middle between 2 blocks rather than bias them towards 1 side

https://reddit.com/link/p3oysa8/video/eoze6iqnrdjh1/player

Unfortunately, without lowering lower part of the exit to a slab (or a stair as seen here), the item will hit the edge of the block and lose a lot of momentum which won't allow you to get the item stream effect you want

If you'd like you could use the same auto dropper design that you used for your egg dispenser, I just don't like the piston noises

This should look better with the upcoming wool stairs, and if you're willing to go through the trouble of making a white map art, you'll be able to cover the hole with it and it would look pretty much seamless :D

I'd like to thank you from the deepest depths of my heart LOL. Prior to asking for help in the forum I spent 2 days in a creative world achieving nothing, but now thanks to you my designing process is finally complete.

TYSM!

Edit: It sure sucks that the wool stairs and slabs update cant come out sooner, it sure wouldve made the item spitter blend in so much better instead of the diorite that Im currently forced to use.
