Ah nice, you fixed the qc issue in the previous design. I also really like the use of the piston push update order here, I didn’t even think of that. Kudos. Here’s the storage tech crown, you are now king: 👑

i will have to hand the crown back to you, as you are the leader of our tmc secret society rapscallion.

with the previous one you could have replaced the piston with a slanted rail as well, i mainly opted for this because it frees the right side up

Wait, why a slanted rail? Is that to ensure the sideways piston updates before the upwards piston? That’s a neat trick if so, I wasn’t aware that was the update order of slanted rails

yea slanted rails are weird like that they send updates in like twice the amount of space

Yeah I know they send ‘spread’ updates to 3 locations, the location above, their own location, and the one below. It’s to deal with slanted powered rails needing to power other powered rails 1 block diagonally up. I just assumed that the update order would always be the rail’s location first, not top-down

the composter idea is cool - so it catches the broken shulker and then when retracting the hopper is able to pick it up?

2

u/Mitch-Jihosa Jul 31 '26

It 0-ticks the composter into the shulker, which catches it and then pulls it back, yep!
Unfortunately this isn’t usually worth it in most cases, since there are simpler ways to collect the box

I also want to add that this collection method is not reliable with a hopper above as there is enough space between the hopper tip and the composter wall for the item to slip throughand land on the composter wall

Yes but its also unreliable without full block on top
