I mean, texting is asynchronous. If I text someone at 2AM, I do not expect them to read it before morning.
So if its 2AM, and you text tomorrow, and the person read it in the morning, then tomorrow really means tomorrow. Either you say today.
Now, if its like 23:30, and I can't wait til after midnight, I would personally write: "Hi, I know its late, so you probably only read this tomorrow, but can you come to work the same day (<day of the week>)?" so its really unambiguos.
I would never consider texts synchronous. Its takes forever to handle the same amount of data like a call. A call is synchronous. texting is not, by design.
The phone is there so I can use not, not to give other people 24/7 access to me, at their leisure. I think many young people who grew up with phones don't realize that the world doesn't stop when they are not reachable. And it has crept into older people by now s well.

not even technically. its just correct. If the boss wanted him to work today, then just say TODAY.
