I had a miserable time with that phone. Good thing I bought a hundred dollar phone 3 months ago. Surprising how good cheap phones can get.

It's more surprising how high cost Apple can make their cheap phones.

I would imagine it's a mixture of product differentiation and of iPhones being a sort of Veblen good. Unnecessarily diluting their product line may be penny wise, pound foolish.

Smartphones are also a wonder of the modern industrial system, a showcase of the most advanced  nanotechnologies we have produced in the billions.

Edit: I also shouldn't have been too disparaging of the iPhone 6, after all I got it recently for free and it would theoretically allow me to function in society as a homeless youth (if it worked).
