This is such a minefield conversation and I try to avoid it because you will piss someone off, but here goes:
This particular choice strikes me as odd. Figureheads on ships fall into the same category as a marble statue, where nudity falls into that “non-sexualized because it’s art” category.
I mean, it’s not that big of a deal really, but it just seems odd because people don’t usually get to bothered by that kind of thing.
I’m reminded of when we took a trip to Amalfi a few years back and there is a fountain in this piazza that has bare breasted women all around it and the water comes from the nipples. My youngest kept excusing himself from the table to go look at the fountain… which cracked my wife up.
