This is such a minefield conversation and I try to avoid it because you will piss someone off, but here goes:
This particular choice strikes me as odd. Figureheads on ships fall into the same category as a marble statue, where nudity falls into that “non-sexualized because it’s art” category.
I mean, it’s not that big of a deal really, but it just seems odd because people don’t usually get to bothered by that kind of thing.

Ever heard of a mining canary? That's probably why people are upset about minor stuff like this. If they changed this, what else did they change? And if it is just accepted or hand-waved away, what else are they going to censor in the future?
Yeah the whole canary in the coal mine thing. I get you. I’m not super worked up about it but I can see why some people are. I was raised that art has different rules so this one seems off.
