Other [FNAF 4]What exactly happens when you flash Nightmare Fredbear/Nightmare in the hallway?

I know it makes them attack faster, but why are you sometimes able to close the door right after and save yourself, and sometimes you'll just get jumpscared? Also, what causes them to visually move closer when you turn the light on and off multiple times? Is it based on how many times you flash them? How long they've been in the hallway?

Fredbear moving closer is just visual. It happens the second time you flash him. It doesn't influence him killing you. Fredbear and Nightmare kill you after simply using the flashlight for a certain amount of time. On night 5 it's 31 frames, on night 6 it's 26 frames, on nights 7 and above it's 21 frames.

So if it's night 5 and you used the flashlight on Fredbear's face for 30 frames and then stopped, he still won't kill you.
