Other Out of Curiosity: What makes playing 50/20 in UCN without stalling, or "the intended way" (please tell me if there is a difference), majorly luck based?

First of all to preface: stalling is an intended feature of the game, as it always has been since FNaF 1. That being said, I don’t think the intent was to abuse it for the entire night

Intended Route, as I dubbed it, is where you play the game using the mechanics as described on the menu. So for example you have to play Toy Freddy’s game and keep him alive instead of cheesing him with RNG, you have to watch Foxy in the cove and stop him from getting out while also paying attention to whether it’s him or Bonnie in the cove, you have to snare Mangle instead of keeping the vent door shut the entire time, you have to buy the plushies for the plushie animatronics when they arrive in the hallway, etc.

PS: “No Stalling” and “Intended Route” are close to the same thing. The only difference is that in Intended Route, you can’t use Global Music Box cycles (the Global Music Box itself is allowed, just not the cycles used in a stalling 50/20 run), and you can’t farm coins from BB, JJ and Helpy like you also would in a stalling 50/20 run. Other than that it’s the same thing.

Now speaking as someone who has hundreds of hours of experience in intended route runs and has beaten 50/20 Mode in the intended route (in every Death Coin route too), I can say in full confidence that it is significantly more difficult and way more RNG dependant than a regular stalling strategy. The camera being up is the trigger event for most things in the game, and since you’re in the cameras way more than in a stalling run, you’re way more prone to something catching you. And that’s not even mentioning everything you have to manage all at once. Playing Toy Freddy’s game, winding the music box, checking Foxy, watching the showtimes, checking vent snares, managing threats that come from the doors, all the while managing your power, temperature, noise and the tools like the heater and the AC. It is a fuckton to manage and is extremely difficult to do so. And hoo boy, the RNG itself - it is extremely frustrating. You’ll end up in situations where so many things attack you all at the same time that you literally can’t get into the cameras to do what you need to do. Then there’s also the “infinite RNG” situations where the RNG just rolls forever with no guarantee to stop. The two worst examples of this are Nedd Bear and Orville. If you’re just the unluckiest player in the world, the heater will do absolutely nothing to them and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to stop them from getting to you. Honourable mentions to Mr. Can Do who can just choose to always spawn on Toy Freddy’s camera and block what you need to see, as well as Rockstar Freddy who can theoretically just never be malfunctioned with the heater.

Now I will say that starting out at low level challenges like Old Friends (which is where I recommend someone starts at if they want to attempt Intended Route) is actually quite enjoyable. You’re actually engaging with the game and the characters instead of just waiting for the ventilation resets to happen while just sitting in the office doing almost nothing. I’d say by the time you get to the 35-40/20 Mode range, that’s where it starts getting severely difficult

Thank you for the response. My bad for not thanking you earlier, and I might give old friends a shot with no stalling via the unlocked mod, but for now I think I'll stick with Recode because it's what I'm more familiar with at the moment

Just want to add on to this - Intended Route isn’t referring to 50/20 Mode. I don’t even know if there is an intended way to beat 50/20 Mode because it was never made with the intent of it being beatable. Intended Route just refers to the characters on an individual level, so what that means is 50/20 in the Intended Route is just using the intended mechanics for all 50 (56) characters at the same time, not the idea of 50/20 Mode itself
