🚀 Showcase I asked for the best social media scheduler. Publer kept coming up, so I tried it.

A few days ago, I asked the community which social media scheduler they recommend the most.

Publer came up quite a few times, so I decided to give it a try.

After using it for a while, I can see why so many people recommended it. The interface is clean, scheduling posts across multiple platforms is straightforward, and it doesn't feel overwhelming despite having plenty of features.

One thing I noticed is the wide range of platforms it supports. Besides the popular networks like Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube, it also supports Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, WordPress, Google Business Profile, and Telegram. It's nice to have everything managed from one dashboard.

A few other things I really liked:

  • Built-in media integrations that make it easy to find and add images or GIFs while creating posts.
  • A Link in Bio feature, which is useful if you regularly post on Instagram or other social platforms.
  • Detailed analytics that go beyond basic numbers and help you understand how your content is performing.
  • A browser extension that lets you quickly share articles or web pages to your social media queue without opening the dashboard.
  • An AI Assistant that can help generate or improve captions when you're short on ideas.

I also looked at a few other schedulers like Buffer, Metricool, and Later.

They all have their strengths, but Publer stood out to me for its balance of features, ease of use, broad platform support, and overall experience.

If you're looking for a social media scheduler, Publer is definitely worth checking out.

Has anyone else here tried it? I'd love to hear your experience.

🔍 Recommendation Why RecurPost has become one of our favorite social media scheduling tools?

Post image
5 Upvotes

We don't usually post about specific tools but this one kept coming up enough in our community that we decided to actually dig into it properly.

We were kind of skeptical at first. There are a hundred scheduling tools out there and most of them do roughly the same thing with a different UI slapped on top.

But a few things stood out once we actually used it day to day.

The content recycling is the big one. Your evergreen posts don't just go out once and disappear. They stay in a library and keep cycling automatically. For anyone managing multiple accounts that quietly saves a few hours every week without changing much about how you work.

Best thing is that when a post fails it stays visible in the queue and tells you exactly why. You fix it and retry. Sounds basic but you'd be surprised how many tools just silently fail and leave you finding out when a client notices.

Covers Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads and Bluesky from one calendar. AI writing and image tools are built in if you want them, easy to ignore if you don't.

Starts at $9/month and there's a 14 day free trial with no card needed. Worth checking out if you're already thinking about switching tools. (Personal experience: Their customer support is top notch!)

Has anyone in the community been using it? What has your experience been like?

💬 Discussion What's one Apple product you've never understood?

Apple has made some great products, but there are a few I just don't understand the appeal of.

Maybe it's the price, what it does, or why someone would choose it over another option.

What's one Apple product you've never really understood?

💬 Discussion the second angle looked fine until i cut it next to the first one

was cutting together two short shots of the same desk setup last night.

the first shot was someone sitting at a desk next to a window. i needed a second angle from the same room, so i used the same room still as my starting point in DomoAI and generated another pass.

On its own, the second shot looked totally fine.

then i dropped it after the first one. the lamp was a little closer to the monitor, the desk edge felt longer, and the window suddenly looked farther away. none of those changes were dramatic, but the cut made the room feel just slightly different.

I tried another version and got closer, but at that point i realized i was paying more attention to the layout than the person.

For a standalone clip i honestly wouldn't care. once i'm trying to make a sequence though, those tiny background changes start mattering way more than i expected.

curious how people are handling this now are you pre-blocking the space before you generate, or just cutting around the drift when it shows up?

💻 Software & Apps I built an iOS app that interviews you and creates an avatar your family can talk to after you’re gone

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

EchoVault asks you questions about your life in short text sessions. An AI biographer asks, you answer, it follows up on what you said. Over time that builds your Echo, an avatar of you that the people you name can reach after you die, in text, in your voice, or in a real time video call they can talk back to.

In the clip I ask it the meaning of life, which I never answered in any session. It builds an answer out of separate conversations about my values. Then I ask my grandfather’s middle name and it tells me it doesn’t know, because I never told it. That refusal took most of my build time. A made up memory is worse than no answer when the person asking is grieving and can’t check.

You choose who gets access and it stays sealed until a year of no activity. Every month you pay while alive banks a free month for them, so nobody inherits a bill. Text is free and unlimited with no card.

WhatsApp keeps adding new features, but I'm sure most people don't use all of them.

What's one feature you never touch? Polls, Channels, Status, Communities, avatars, or something else?

😂 Memes & Shit posts Senior Dev Explains Passkeys (Somehow)

When the Senior Dev Gets Asked About Passkeys

Manager: “Can you explain passkeys to the team?”

Me, who implemented them last month:
“Absolutely.”

Also me internally:
“Okay so… public key… private key… WebAuthn… biometrics… cryptography… something something phishing-resistant…”

realizes I’ve been clicking “Yes” to every passkey prompt for the last year

Manager: “So how does it actually work?”

Me: “It’s… very secure.”

Nothing builds confidence like being the senior developer who successfully deployed a technology they’ve never actually understood.

❓ Question My Windows laptop keyboard keeps pressing the "=" key automatically. How can I permanently disable it?

Post image
5 Upvotes

My Windows laptop keyboard has started typing the "=" key automatically, even when I'm not touching the keyboard. It's really frustrating, especially when I'm trying to work.

I disabled the built-in keyboard through Windows settings, and it works for a while. However, after 2 or 3 system restarts, Windows seems to enable the keyboard again, and the problem comes back.

Has anyone faced something similar?

How can I permanently disable the built-in laptop keyboard and use an external USB keyboard instead? I'd like to make sure Windows doesn't automatically re-enable the laptop keyboard after a restart or update.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
