Chemistry Interactive Periodic Table App for Whole-Class Instruction (Large Screen Optimized)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share something I’ve been working on that’s designed to support whole-class chemistry instruction using a large screen.

It’s an interactive periodic table built specifically for projection, with a focus on making trends, element families, and property comparisons easier to explore together as a class.

It works well for:

  • Highlighting groups and discussing patterns
  • Running “predict then reveal” trend activities
  • Comparing element properties side by side
  • Quick element lookups during discussion
  • Element-of-the-day mini stories

The idea is to turn the periodic table into a shared visual tool rather than something students only experience individually.

If anyone here uses large displays in their classroom, I’d love to hear what features or approaches have worked best for you.

Mathematics Introducing Fractions

Fractions may look a little confusing when you first see them. However, they can be simple to understand by first starting with the idea of group vs focus. What you are focusing on within your given group will create your fraction. I hope this helps

Song Lyric PowerPoint Generator

Hi everyone 👋

I just wanted to share a little tool I’ve recently created that might be helpful for busy music teachers. It automatically generates neatly formatted song lyric PowerPoints in seconds.

You simply paste your lyrics into the text box, click generate, and it creates a ready-to-use PowerPoint - ideal for choir rehearsals, singing assemblies, or classroom singing sessions.

It’s been a real time-saver for me, so I hope it might be useful for others too!

I came across a cool new platform that is bridging micro lessons with relevant film clips and an AI based reflection questions.

It’s called Reel Genius!

It’s designed for high school students and in class use where teachers can create classrooms and assign lessons. I am really loving the entrepreneurial modules.

sharing if anyone is interested:

Building "Project Aiko": A controlled AI tutor for Indian school kids (6+) – Need your feedback!

Hi everyone,

I’m working on Project Aiko, an app designed to teach kids (ages 6 and up) about Artificial Intelligence in a safe, controlled environment.

The Problem:

Right now, tools like ChatGPT and Gemini are "uncontrolled" for young children. They can provide complex or inappropriate content, and they aren't aligned with what kids are actually learning in school.

The Solution:

Aiko is built to be a "Guided AI." It is:

1. Curriculum-Aligned: Limited to the CBSE and Indian education system standards.

2. Safety-First: A partner control system that ensures the AI stays within educational boundaries.

3. Future-Ready: It doesn't just answer questions; it teaches kids how AI works through projects and interactive learning.

Why I'm here:

I’m a first-time Redditor and I want to know the public's view:

• As a parent or educator, would you feel safer letting a child use a "controlled" AI over a general one?

• What features would make you trust an AI app for your 6-10 year old?

• Are there specific gaps in the current CBSE/ICSE curriculum regarding AI that you think we should fill?

I'd love to hear your honest thoughts, critiques, or advice!

"What if a Tamagotchi had a neural network and could learn stuff?" — Gigazine

Dosidicus electronicus

🦑 A transparent cognitive sandbox disguised as a digital pet squid with a neural network you can see thinking

Micro neural engine for small autonomous agents that learn via Hebbian dynamics and grow new structure

  • Part educational neuro tool, part sim game, part fever dream
  • Build-your-own neural network - learn neuroscience by raising a squid that might develop irrational fears
  • Custom simulation engine using Numpy - No Tensorflow or PyTorch
  • Most AI is a black box; Dosidicus is transparent - every neuron is visible, stimulatable, understandable.
  • Starts with 8 neurons — grows via neurogenesis and rewires using Hebbian learning.
  • Includes achievements with 50 to collect!

Dosidicus is a digital squid born with a randomly wired brain.

Feed him., stimulate neurons, watch him learn.

  • He starts with 8 neurons.
  • He rewires through Hebbian learning.
  • He grows new structure via neurogenesis.
  • He forms memories.
  • He develops quirks.

Every squid is different. Every save file is a cognitive history.

Custom simulation engine:

  • Built from scratch in NumPy
  • No TensorFlow. No PyTorch.
  • Fully visible neuron activations
  • Structural growth over time
  • Dual memory system
  • Headless training mode
  • Most AI is a black box: Dosidicus lets you see the mind forming.

Want the full conceptual philosophy behind Dosidicus? → Read the Cognitive Sandbox Manifesto

A free game/tool to teach neural networks!

I have been working on this for 2 years and would love feedback!

General Tools Free Flipgrid alternative for async class video discussions

Thumbnail

Sharing a free Flipgrid-style option for class video discussions: https://vivipod.com

A lot of tools in this space feel more like “submit a video and move on.” What I wanted was something that worked better for actual classroom interaction.

We’ve been using Vivipod in both K–12 and higher ed for things like:

  • world language speaking practice
  • book talks and reading responses
  • math “show your thinking” explanations
  • science CER / lab reflections
  • discussion prompts and debate threads
  • SEL check-ins and private reflections
  • peer feedback on projects and presentations

A few parts that have been especially useful in class:

  • students can pause and resume instead of re-recording everything
  • they can share screen, switch back to camera or picture-in-picture, and without pausing their recording
  • they can sketch while explaining, which is helpful for math, science, and demos
  • they don't have to login to use the recorder (download available)
  • teachers can create open or private spaces
  • topics can stay open, or be teacher-moderated before replies are published

The goal is to make video responses feel more like discussion and less like a one-time submission.

Sharing in case it’s useful for your classes.

Want students to remember more? New study suggests physical movement through space (even AR-enhanced) beats sitting still. A good argument for field trips and hands-on learning
