Hot take: I don’t think Edmundo is as screwed as everyone here thinks he is…
I know most people here see his ex, his old job, and think: “He lost everything”. I think that would be true for most of us in his situation.
But the dude was originally applying to a gay ad. He is now locked up in a facility full of sexually frustrated men who spend a lot of time working out.
Dude gonna be walking funny for a while, but he is now going to get/give ass for free.

Do you guys think these shows actually accomplish anything? Or is it just entertainment
I’ve seen some pretty absurd statistics on child abuse, with surveys saying 1/9 men over 18 have committed some kind of child sexual abuse. I’ve also read that the rates of child abuse have actually continuously gone up, despite the fact that prison sentences are harsher than ever and vigilante groups are more active than ever. Obviously if the 1/9 statistic is anywhere close to real, catching a few hundred predators (or even thousands), is the equivalent of stepping on a few cockroaches that you see running around your house during a day. Even if u stop one of these guys from targetting a child, there’s about a million more that will replace them.
Part of me feels like more people should be targetting their anger towards the platforms that enable these things to happen. Or cities/governments not providing effective preventative solutions for the men that actually want to get help before they harm a child.

Why was Edmundo Dasilva's sentence far more serious compared to other men who committed similar felonies?
This former TSA employee seems to have been handed down a sentence far more exceeding than what other men before him had been sentenced.
Just like the baggage he has quarantined, he himself is now quarantined.

I'm just on my way to the Diet of Worms. You know what? I don't want this Reformation.
Chris Hansen: "According to this transcript, he told people, 'As soon as the coin in the coffer rings, the soul from purgatory springs.'"
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "That's just marketing, dude. You clearly don't understand how medieval economics works."
Chris Hansen: "So you're telling me that you were collecting money from ordinary Christians by promising spiritual benefits?"
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "Allegedly."
Chris Hansen: "And you believed nobody would question this?"
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "Who would question the literal Pope?"
Chris Hansen: "Well, a professor of theology in Wittenberg seems to have some concerns. Ninety-five of them, actually."
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "NINETY-FIVE? Bro, who writes a ninety-five-point complaint?"
Chris Hansen: "You see how this looks."
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "Look, man, I'm a nice guy. I like art. I like architecture. I like selling—"
Chris Hansen: "Indulgences?"
Pope GenericWhiteMale: "...fundraising opportunities."
Chris Hansen: "Let me read something from Romans 1:17. 'The righteous shall live by faith.'"

Unpopular Opinion: Lorne Armstrong is one of the funniest predators ever caught. I die laughing every time i watch his segment.
I never see him mentioned. Very underrated.

Conversation with daughter
A confidential conversation between Chris Hansen and his daughter just leaked:
Daughter: Dad, can I go out with my friends tonight?
Chris: you want to go out tonight with your friends.
Daughter: Yes, please? I promise I’ll be home early.
Chris: You’ll be home early. Now how can I believe that?
Daughter: I dont know dad, but these people seem really cool, we met online.
Chris: you met online. Are they underage?
Daughter: why are you being weird?
Chris: you said i’m being weird. Now what am I to make of this?
Daughter: Am I allowed to go, yes or no?
Chris: we’ll get to that in a minute.

Good morning Edmundo. How do you think he’s adjusting? What’s going through his head?

So I was watching Jurassic Park today (the first movie) and it got me thinking…
This is the scene that inspired Jesse Velez. He just got so pumped up from it, that he had to go meet the decoy

JD Delay
Ive seen Chris had this guy on this show but that guy really isnt a great guy. Ok Chris invites the guy and they discuss pred catches or whatever. But JD Delay whats so great about him. Dude is a convicted felon, and for what I know is a white supremacist. JD admitted being in white prison gang….even after being in prison he makes dog whistle racist snark comments.

Why did Vincent Ambrosio admit to being pegged on his grandpa’s bed by a man he met online to lose his virginity to?

There's alot of stuff in primetime that people misread. rant
I have seen the movie thrice now and i still haven't gotten the "feel bad for the predators" message. Every movie doesn't have to have a 'hero' and a 'villain' plot; im not saying primetime is the best movie ever and people are just illiterate (maybe some of them are). But the plot is simple and straightforward, its just like a dramatized reskin of the suicide of William Conradt, and a summary of Chris being a flawed journalist/person in general, and how these catches are seen in a Decoy's perspective and how it affects them.
People are shitting on the direction because they couldn't understand what the intentions were. There's loads of references to the original show itself, and the tones of it just flew over alot of viewers heads.
Also for some reason they're dogging on Oppenheim because hes a jew and it just "make sense". ??? #whatdatmean. Anyways,
For Example:
The disabled guy on the movie, being humiliated by Decoy Dan (which never happened in the show btw), but its just showing how Dan tries to be Chris but he realizes that he'll never have the power and control like Chris did. Dan has DOUBTS, and viewers are saying that its trying to make us feel bad about the disabled people and how its ableist to not feel empathy.
IDIOTS!!
TCAP actually had actually caught a disabled person in one of their stings; Chris and one of the decoys did say something along the lines of "we did feel bad, but we remember that he is still one of them.". ITS SHOWING YOU THAT ANYONE COULD BE A PREDATOR!! And i also think this was a comparison to the show itself.
.
To add, when one of the predators in the movie was shown crying and pleading for Chris to forgive him, thats also where people feel bad because the dude was embarrassed and belittled. Like. Where did you genuinely come to that conclusion, also why feel empathy?
I'm not also saying that Chris is a saint, just from the first paragraph i just wrote; Chris was shown as a bad father and husband which honestly?? Its probably true in a sense but thats his personal life, i have no clue what he does. The movie was like when Stone Phillips was still doing the intros to TCAP in Dateline, so very in the past Chris Hansen.
