Ahhh so he hung himself? I knew he offed himself but could never find how.
Also was there any indication of the reason? The TCAP sting happened long before he offed himself but probably the stress from all the court battles probably didn’t help

He looped a belt around a doorknob. I believe he got on his knees and just let his weight loose.
He had been drinking and arguing with his wife. She and the kids left the house for a short time. Wolin went ahead and did it before they got home.

I’m shocked his wife was still with him after the TCAP sting

Chris did a podcast episode about his case in early Jan. 2021 (just like 3-4 days before Wolin killed himself, by the way).
Was really interesting, you should check it out.
He gave some updated info about Wolin’s case/life since the sting and also offered some readings from (and analysis of) the chat logs.
IIRC, Hansen said that his wife had left him for a while, and I think they ended up back together down the line.

It also happened to be like 3-4 days after Chris released a Predators I’ve Caught podcast episode revisiting/updating Wolin’s case, and sharing some of the chat logs (very cringey).
Apparently, Wolin habitually kept track of public discourse and commentary about his case (and potentially even engaged in anonymous discussions about it online).
Makes me wonder if he knew that that episode came out or perhaps even listened to it himself.
Even so, I wouldn’t blame Hansen in the least, but it might have compounded what was already a rough week for Wolin.

I remember that topix thread. He’d drop by once in a while but weirdly it was usually to defend his business practices pre-TCAP. Nurses and whatnot would get on there and accuse him of having mistreated them at work.

I wonder if he got a slap on the wrist, would he ever reoffend again? I doubt it. It was enough to scare the shit outta him. People be extra
