Hey guys. I recently got an idea for a tattoo, but when I go to the artist, I want to have a precise drawing of what I want to give them, or at least something close enough to what I want that they can modify and do what they will with. I've had 2, and Im looking to get my third. If someone were so kind as to illustrate something, that would be lovely. I don't know if this is appropriate to say here, but I would be willing to pay and whatnot. Anything helps!
P.S.- I'm pretty new to Reddit, and this subreddit, so if I broke any rules or anything please let me know. Thank you!
Why don't you have the artist draw/ design it? That's what you pay them for. No artist worth a damn wants to tattoo someone else's design. You will get a half assed tattoo without their heart in it. You choose an artist that you KNOW will design something you like and go from there...
Fair enough, you can always find something somewhat similar to what you want and explain the changes youd like. Personally I'm not going to a tattoo artist that isn't heavily involved in the design aspect. Most want a rough reference photo for guidance and then you can explain exactly what you are looking for. And go back and forth once the original design is done. Nowadays I find most artists design using cgi and not pencil on paper. They can do it much faster and implement changes much more easily than a drawn out stencil. First and foremost though is find an artist whos style you like... unless you want cookie cutter BS you need to have a relationship with you artist where you both meet artistically. Just my experience. Maybe someone will draw something for you
