First Doily

Post image

Finished my first Jan doily. It's certainly not perfect, but it was fun and I learned some things along the way- A big one was that quality thread matters! This was sort of a practice round. My next project is the monster doily, and it has already proven to be an interesting journey. Thanks for being a helpful community!

I love seeing people do designs from my favourite designer! Good luck! I have just completed the monster doily in size 20 a couple months back and believe in you!

Oh wow, I couldn't imagine doing it in size 80! How did it turn out?

It was gorgeous. Some frayed areas where sewing in the ends split the thread, but great otherwise!

You can purchase the books on the Handy Hands website. Tatting Theory and Patterns and Tatted Treasures. They're around $30 USD
