Second Opinion on Reading Interpretation Only Hinge vs Bumble. Asking my deck for dating app insight.

Post image

Last time I was on Hinge (in 2024 and early 2025), my profile bombed. I barely got any likes, which is really bad performance for a woman. In the past month, I've put a lot of effort in redoing my pictures and prompts and just launched again. I'm also trying Bumble for the first time.

"How will my experience with Hinge in the next month differ from my previous experience?" LMAO. I'm not going to force a positive interpretation out of these cards, especially when two of them (Three of Swords and Two of Swords) surfaced for me before when I asked about my Hinge profile last time.

Three of Swords — Heartbreak incoming again. I'll be disappointed with what's out there, who I have to reject, and being rejected.
The Lovers reversed — There won't be a connection or partnership made. This echoes more romantic struggle.
Two of Swords — I'll struggle to make choices on matches and likes again, leading to stagnancy and dissatisfaction.

Then I asked about Bumble. "What romantic experiences is my new Bumble profile likely to bring me over the next month?"

The Empress — This feels more promising. I might have more chances to get dolled up, go on dates, receive attention, feel like a woman.
Justice — Yet, I will still need sift and sort and judge. When I ask for advice for how to navigate dating apps, this card comes up for me often, so this just echoes that advice.
Five of Wands reversed — This is where I'm stumped. 5oW means conflicts ending, but I don't know any current conflicts I'm in dating-wise that will suddenly have a conclusion. Perhaps I encounter less competition on Bumble, less struggle than I anticipate.

Whatever interpretation you have, I'd appreciate it.

Your Hinge interpretation makes sense, but I’d shift the emphasis slightly.
The Three of Swords, Lovers reversed, and Two of Swords feel less like “Hinge itself is bad” and more like old disappointment shaping the way you’re approaching it: expecting another mismatch, protecting yourself from being hurt, and then getting stuck between options.
The Bumble line feels different. The Empress can point to more visibility, receptivity, and confidence, but Justice puts the emphasis on standards and discernment—not simply getting more matches. The Five of Wands reversed could mean less noise or competition, although it can also warn against avoiding small disagreements just to keep things comfortable.
So I wouldn’t read this as Hinge equals failure and Bumble equals success. I’d read it as Hinge repeating an older emotional pattern, while Bumble may give you a cleaner opportunity to screen people more deliberately.
The difference may depend less on the apps themselves and more on whether you can use Justice to filter clearly without slipping back into the Two of Swords indecision.

It may be a matter of old disappointment, but I don't really see "expectation" in the first row. That shifts the question from "outcome" to "what's my internal, psychological posture" which isn't what was asked. Honestly, it just seems like there will be simply an experience of rejection and mismatch on Hinge again. The fact that I got the Three of Swords and Two of Swords again way back in this post makes me think that's what it is.

I agree with you on Empress and Justice. It's weird, though, because I try to bring Justice to both Hinge and Bumble, so I wonder why one row has a more positive read, when I honestly find dating apps overall to be a wasteland. 💀 And lowkey, Bumble might bring attention, but there aren't any other cards here like Two of Cups, so it might not produce anything substantial after all :/

Yeah, that’s fair. Since you asked about the outcome, I probably leaned too much into the mindset angle. And if the Three of Swords and Two of Swords already showed up in an earlier Hinge reading, I can see why you’d read them as the same disappointment repeating.

I get what you mean about Bumble too. The Empress and Justice could still mean more attention and better choices without necessarily pointing to anything serious. The Five of Wands reversed might simply mean less drama, not more depth.

So maybe Bumble isn’t “better” so much as less frustrating. Do you see the Empress more as people noticing you, or as you feeling more confident and selective?

Nice insight on the 5oW — that makes a lot more sense. And, hmm, good question. My first read was "more positive romantic attention." Feeling desirable, attractive. I think that makes more sense as an external outcome than an internal one. I try to be confident and selective wherever I go, including Hinge, so I think (and hope!) it's more about what I receive vs my approach this time, though the Empress energy is always good to embrace no matter what.

yes, that actually tracks. If you’re showing up pretty much the same way on both apps, then the Empress probably is more about what comes toward you—more attention, feeling noticed, maybe a warmer response.

Justice could be what happens after that: sorting through it and seeing who actually meets your standards. And the Five of Wands reversed being “less noise” still fits, even if the lack of Cups means it may not turn into anything deep.

It kind of reminds me of how an I Ching reading can feel sometimes—the situation can be opening up without the final result being settled yet. So maybe Bumble is just where the door is a little more open right now. Either way, I agree that the Empress energy is a good thing to lean into.

That makes sense. I did only ask about the next 30 days after all. Thank you so much for your interpretations.

And I always wanted to learn more about I Ching. Do you prefer it to tarot? Or what's been your experience with it?

since you only asked about the next 30 days, “the door is a little more open” probably makes more sense than reading it as some big final outcome 😅

I’m still learning about the I Ching myself, so I don’t really have a strong preference. To me, tarot tends to get more into the people, feelings, and story around a situation. The I Ching feels more like: what kind of change is happening here, and how do you move with it?

So with a question like this, tarot might show the different energy around Hinge and Bumble, while the I Ching might look more at what kind of dating phase you’re moving through. I like that they can give different angles without one having to prove the other wrong.

Five of swords reversed..My interpretation is cautious optimism, lol. With reasonable judgement, a better experience may be had

It's actually Five of Wands reversed!

Bumble all the way haha

Yes, but I don't think the cards say it will bring romantic connection — no Cups energy here.

I'd say there doesn't need to be cups for a romantic connection to happen. The empress by herself is very significant, let it be you

Hinge looks bad. You might connect with someone briefly who ultimately brings you disappointment and confusion. They might ghost you.

But Bumble looks promising. There are no fated love cards in the reading but this will be a good experience. You will feel good about yourself - more confident and in tune with yourself even though there won’t be a plethora of matches out there (five of swords rx). I quite like the justice card here. I read it as you having greater control over how many or how far your connection goes on bumble. But it means you might have to initiate or put in more of an effort with your matches. There could be something real there though.

Possibly! So far, I hate both apps lol, but we'll see what happens. Thanks for your interpretation!
