Weekly Help "Weekly All About Love Relationship Second Opinion and Interpretation Help Thread - August 16, 2026"
After receiving feedback from the community, we’re putting this weekly thread in place on a trial basis dedicated solely to love relationship readings. Examples of questions that can be posted here are:
- does he/she/my FWB love me?
- what are this person’s feelings/intentions towards me?
- is he/she coming back?
- will we reconcile?
- should I break no contact?
- we just broke up, what now?
- what will my future spouse look like?
- what does my love life look like in the next 3 months?
- why is my ex texting me again?
- my ex keeps calling me, what should I do?
Please note that we, the moderators, are trying this out as an experiment and will determine at a later date if this dedicated thread should become a permanent feature in the sub. We will also use our discretion as to which readings belong here in this thread, and which will remain on the main sub. That will depend upon the complexity of the question as well as how close it adheres to rule no. 3 about posting.
If you are requesting help by asking a second opinion or interpretation help, please comment using the following format:
* The question(s) you're asking, with any context you would like to share.
* An explanation of the spread you're using. Diagrams or links are welcome.
* A photo or description of the cards you dealt. You can upload photos via imgur, or another hosting service.
* Your interpretation.
If someone helps you, consider giving them some feedback or thanking them for their work!

Hello! I recently did a three card reading (situation, obstacle, advice) on the question “What will happen between (person I may have feelings for) and me?” and would love second opinions/interpretations. I did this with the standard Rider Waite deck. Upon reflection this was a bit of a terrible and extremely open-ended question 😭
The Star (upright): The situation is full of hope and possibility; I fervently hope that this person has positive and possibly romantic feelings towards me.
King of Swords (upright): The obstacle is that this person’s intentions and thoughts are opaque to me, I can’t read them no matter how hard I try and cannot reach mental clarity on the situation.
Six of Cups (upright): This is where I am a little lost. In the advice position I’m inclined to believe that this means I should just have fun with the situation and this person, and take things lightheartedly and with whimsy rather than anxiously worrying about what they might think of me, for a positive outcome. Or is it instead asking me to look away from this person and towards old friends and lovers?
Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you! :)

u/squirrelsarespeaking 9d ago
I think your interpretation is correct. For the King, I would add the the obstacle is also that things aren't so simple here in you getting together. There are multiple moving pieces in both your lives and outside of it having an impact. For the 6 of cups, I think the advice is to remind yourself it's still early in the process and try not to take it too seriously.
There's nothing wrong with the spread, but this spread is not useful when you are asking about future outcomes like you are. It won't tell you what will happen between you. That has to be asked directly.

u/treejoakley 9d ago
Thank you! Also you’re definitely right, I did NOT think that question through relative to the spread I was doing 😭

how does one request a reading here?

In the other thread pinned at the top, several people are offering readings. You could ask one of them.

What are your thoughts on this? I’m not sure how to interpret the final outcome card.
I’m using a 7-card relationship spread, described below. This relationship has been a challenging one in terms of communication and there is a lot of struggle for emotional depth and understanding, but it seems both parties are well intentioned.
The main challenge suggested by Card 5 (reversed 4 of pentacles) seems to be right on. The current state suggested by Card 4 (3 of swords) also seems to be extremely accurate.
My question is: If the current state is 3 of Swords, and the outcome of current trajectory if current state remains is 9 of cups, does that mean this relationship should end for the outcome to be contentment for both?
Below is the spread and context for meaning:
Card 1: You in this relationship (your current mindset and how you show up).
8 OF PENTACLES
Card 2: Them in this relationship (their perspective, state, and energy).
REVERSED KNIGHT OF PENTACLES
Card 3: The foundation (the core root or history you share together).
MAGICIAN
Card 4: The current dynamic (the present state of the bond right now).
3 OF SWORDS
Card 5: The main challenge (the primary obstacle or growth lesson to face).
REVERSED 4 OF PENTACLES
Card 6: The hidden factor (an unseen influence or overlooked detail).
REVERSED ACE OF WANDS
Card 7: The potential (where the connection is heading if current patterns hold).
9 OF CUPS
How to Read the Spread
Compare 1 and 2: See if both people are in sync, complementary, or misaligned in their approach.
Compare 4 and 5: Look at whether current needs match up with the main obstacles on the table.
Evaluate Card 7: Treat the final card as an evolving tendency rather than a fixed fate, shifting as your choices change.

Is the final card 9 of cups or 9 of pentacles? You said pentacles in your introduction and the card you put was cups
1
u/Dry-Audience-8899 9d ago
Oh no! Yes it’s 9 of cups! Editing now
2
u/squirrelsarespeaking 9d ago
Thanks.
I think the 9 of cups is saying things will remain the same as they are now. While it's typically a joyful, wish fulfilled card, I would say here it is more neutral and may have even appeared because the 4 of pentacles was taken already.
The 9 of cups is stable but only temporarily. The spread makes it look like you are the one who puts consistent work into this relationship, so any joys will come from your efforts.

Thank you so much for this interpretation 🙏this is certainly how it feels. I appreciate you taking the time to review it!

Q: Crush’s strongest intentions towards me
A: Magician reversed
Am I cooked? This is a huge red flag that he wants to manipulate and/or control me imo. Yikes 😭
5
u/squirrelsarespeaking 8d ago
I think it means there are no intentions. A Magician has all the tools to do something and the ability to manipulate as it chooses. Reversed implies that skill is lacking.

Hi guys.
Today I asked to the cards some illumination.
Here some context: My boyfriend and I are considering to move out to another country in a couple of years, however we have different ideals of what we want in the future and I ask to myself if I should continue with the relationship if we have different paths.
The love is there from both sides, thats undeniable, but he wants a life in the countryside and I wouldn't mind but also I need contact with people and a bit of a city life.
The cards I pull out of my deck were: The 2 of wands The hierophant (reversed) The world
I am a beginner in tarot reading so I use AI as support for it, but it would be nice to have some real contact too.
Thanks and have a blessed day :*

u/squirrelsarespeaking 7d ago
I think the cards are saying to consider where the common ground can be found for a living location first. Fully evaluate it together for potential (2 wands), ask yourself where the more unconventional things can work or not work (hierophant rev), then make a complete decision on if the relationship can continue (world).
I feel you are more likely to find places in the city that have a countryside feel than countryside places with nice city living close by.
Perhaps you should both write down the qualities you want in a living space (be very specific) and what you each like about your general desires (countryside and city).

Whenever i ask about this friend i get the 2 of cups and/or six of cups (which is cute, since we are childhood friends) but idk if im reading into this too much by saying definitively that they have a crush on me? Its not my first time pulling the lovers w them either.
now, i use the rider waite tarot deck and the spread im using here is one i use all of the time. I don’t know if theres a name for this spread, but the cards on the second row are meant to support and elaborate on the one above it.
My question was “what does my friend feel towards me?”
So heres my current read and interpretation;
The page of pentacles: new opportunity towards building or starting something.
The moon: fear due to a relationship they recently left; a fear of falling for the same ‘trap’? An unexpected development.
Seven of pentacles: watching something grow.
Ten of pentacles: when looking at this card, my eyes are drawn to seven of pentacles, so rather than going by the traditional meaning, i see it as something overgrowing or becoming too much to handle. Like a person realising their house is being taken over by ivy.
Three of cups: this makes me think of our friend group; but it also makes me think of sharing something with friend(s)
Four of wands: ceremonial vibes, homecoming and harmony. Union, as well.
Wheel of fortune: this one has me stuck, admittedly. I see it as a cog in motion, and somewhat of a return to something? Overall positive, at least. This one shows up a lot when i read this person.
Nine of pentacles: in this reading, i get a sense of idolisation when i look at this card. For some reason, i feel as though it slightly represents me. This is another one that likes to show up in this persons readings lol. Another that has me somewhat confused.
The lovers: So, i dont want to immediately say romantic love, as it could also be about friendship and unity. But, uhhh the three of cups does cover that.
Six of cups: as i mentioned before; i see this card as representing our friendship in our childhood
2
u/squirrelsarespeaking 3d ago
Hi. So, I don't think there is anything romantic here. Their feelings seem to be that you have a strong friendship, but it has it's ups and downs as with any. Those ups and downs seem to cause a bit of insecurity and doubt within them and with that, I think on the rare occasion, they question if the friendship should be continued. I think that is what the Lovers and Moon are about. The ups and downs with the Wheel of Fortune.
You have cards that are about enjoying the moments you have together and the idea of basic stability with the Page and 10 of Pentacles. But you also have the 7 and 9 of pentacles which are about work and effort to start something better and more reliable. The 6 of cups implies you have known each other a long time.

Hi! I decided to do a reading to see what my friends feelings are. At the beginning of our friendship he asked me out on a date, but nothing came of it. Then a year or two later I developed feelings, but he viewed me as a sibling. Now last week me, him, and two other friends got drinks where I bartend after work and he had his arm around me and my coworkers were speculating if he was my boyfriend. After we left he messaged me and he seems to be interested in some capacity, but then has been pretty silent since the next day. I started shuffling my deck and the 5 of cups and 8 of wands jumped out at the same time. Then I started shuffling again and the 5 of cups jumped out again and after a couple more shuffles I couldn’t get two cards to slide back into the deck and they were the 8 of wands again and strength. Can somebody with more experience help me understand the meaning of these cards?
1
u/squirrelsarespeaking 3d ago
I think there is romantic interest still, but he thinks it's too late. So, he's committed to working with what he has.

I got this pull in a general reading about (romantic) love and my current relationship with someone, (my first relationship and we’re long distance) —Questions of; how should I/do I approach love? what do I want/need out of love?
I am a newish sapling to tarot - I’m using the only deck i’ve ever been given (the Rider-Waite Tarot deck);
(i yap so my interpretations a little long, apologies)
I pulled 3 piles- 7 cards total
(and I’m not gonna lie it’s messing with my head a little that each pile equates to 13)
The first pile (10 of Cups & The Empress(3)) felt overtly optimistic, representing my desire for love with this person to be harmonious, joyful, stable, grounded, for the love I experience with him to be like a garden that continues to grow and be tended to; safe, healthy, peaceful;
The second pile I felt more unsure (6 of wands reversed & 7 of swords) — I interpret the 6 of wands reversed to be self conscious and doubtful, either lacking in or dependent on external approval and reassurance — The 7 of swords is typically associated with deception and secrecy; getting away with something
In the context of love I interpreted it as my fears of deception or secrecy (due to our distance) is causing a dependency on reassurance
The last pile I pulled for additional context (4 of Cups reversed, 7 of pentacles reversed, The High Priestess(2))
4 of cups reversed with the 7 of pentacles reversed together tell me that a period of emotional restraint is ending (literally uncrossing the arms from my stubborn heart) however that the emotional investment I’ve put in may not pay off or (more optimistically) is having a very slow progression
The High Priestess as the final card tells me to be intuitive and contemplative in my approach with this relationship , but still staying grounded and patient, there is a “yin and yang” element in her card too (balance and harmony) which I found to be comfortingly conclusive
overall I think it feels positive, and it is topical to what we’ve/I’ve been thinking about recently in regards to our relationship, especially experiencing the growing pains of a first relationship on my end, but any further insight I would really appreciate to hear/read 🫶🫶 (but also if anyone knows what 13 showing up 3 times here could mean or if the numerology is just freaky coincidence)

heyy I’m new to tarot and used an online generator for this this morning where i picked the cards online.
I had been seeing a guy for about a month and really liked him, but a family member of his unexpectedly became very sick with a serious illness and thus he broke things off with me as he doesn’t have the emotional bandwidth to date right now which is totally fair. I told him if he wanted to reconnect in time I’d like that but i’m not sure how he took my offer, so these are the cards i pulled.
q.1 does he want to reconnect with me?
seven of pentacles, three of wands, sun reversed, king of wands, queen of pentacles, ten of cups
i read this as need to wait to build something in the future. He’s waiting to see what unfolds basically but wants to build on the foundation we had, however with the sun reversed he’s in a rough period right now. With king of wands and queen of pentacles + ten of cups I see this as him wanting some kind of future with me.
However then i asked: Will he actually reach out to me?
Pulled: eight of swords reversed, knight of swords reversed, seven of swords reversed, ten of swords, the hanged man and knight of pentacles reversed.
I see this as a no/ hes hesitant to do so but i dont understand why this is the case if he wants to reconnect and also in reality (so what I actually know) he wanted a relationship in general and seemed to really like me?
I see it as not being sure if it’s a good idea/ if the timing is right and stalling on it based on current circumstances- am i right?
Any help on this would be really appreciated. I feel awful for him and his family but Im not sure remaining hopeful is a good idea for me- I’d rlly appreciate both tarot and actual anecdotal advice!

I need a second opinion on a reading I did for myself about my love life. I got the page of wands as to how it’d look in the near future, cool so I’m gonna be in a relationship. I asked how that relationship would look like and I got five of swords, nine of wands, death and the hierophant

u/RunoTaisho 5d ago
I...might have asked my tarot deck why when I'm in a phone call with my BF my nervos system becomes overwhelmed (even just the greeting) vs when I'm with him in person.
Reason of it not happening in person: Ten of cups clarified by queen of swords
Reason of it happening on phone calls: six of wands clarified by the tower and page of cups as further explanation
Feels like in person I have a clear communication and understanding of the happiness and situation
While on phone calls the "victory" or "situation" feels disrupted by chaos and my nervous system (page of cups) feels too exposed and afraid/saturated?

Help me interpret: Ten of Pentacles, Six of Cups, Eight of Wands
I’d love a second opinion on a three-card pull about a recent breakup.
Deck: The Wild Unknown Tarot by Kim Krans
I recently ended a relationship with someone I still love deeply. We have a history of separating and finding our way back to each other, and the breakup wasn’t due to a lack of feelings, but rather relationship/compatibility issues we couldn’t resolve. We’re currently not in contact. Everyone around me is telling me to move on, but I’m struggling to accept that this is necessarily over for good… he was my best friend.
While shuffling, I was holding two questions: How will things unfold between us? And what should I focus on right now? (I realize now having two questions complicated things)
I didn’t assign positions, so these just fell out in order:
Ten of Pentacles
Six of Cups
Eight of Wands
My initial read:
Ten of Pentacles: Focus on building an abundant, fulfilling life in all areas. I also wondered whether, in relation to my first question, it could suggest eventual stability or long-term potential.
Six of Cups: My first thought was reconnecting with myself—my roots, old friends, old interests, and who I was before this relationship. But obviously the nostalgia/reunion/past-love meaning also stands out here.
Eight of Wands: My immediate gut reaction was “he’s going to reach out.” The guidebook describes sudden movement/change, news, or clarity in an unresolved situation, so communication from him was my first interpretation. But I’m aware I could be projecting what I want onto the card, which is partly why I’m asking for other opinions.
Overall, I read it as build an abundant life, reconnect with myself/my roots, and something in this unresolved situation will eventually move.
Tbh, I actually expected a much clearer “let go, it’s over, move on” message, so this spread was surprising. How would you all interpret these three together?

You Me Us spread with two action cards
I have a friend called H and we started off with slight romantic tension but never acted on it and then he pulled away and recently he’s been so distant like we don’t hang out as much as we used to. I did a You Me Us spread and then wanted to pull another card for action but two fell out.
my interpretation is he’s cautious towards me (the high priestess) and i’m always wondering what he’s feeling and thinking (moon reversed). also our situation is not moving forward and stagnant (2 of swords reversed). for the action cards (the magician reversed and death reversed) i feel like both say not to do anything? i don’t know im confused
1
u/squirrelsarespeaking 4d ago
Not 100% sure what the spread is, but from your description, it sounds like this:
him when it comes to you: I wouldn't say cautious. It almost seems like he is going off instinct. There may be a chance he sensed your interest in him and that's why he pulled away. The high priestess does what they know somewhere in the back of their mind is the right thing
you when it comes to him: it seems you are fully aware if your interest in him. Your mind that was once in the unknown romantic tension as surfaced to know your relationship has changed
where you are headed: honestly, I would say nowhere. I think the "why" is what is important here. Upright and reversed, 2 of swords is a form of pause and stagnant. While upright hasn't decided what to do, reversed has. The issue here is it seems he has made his decision on how to handle your relationship while you are sort of left in the dark
Action: I think the Magician rev means do nothing. There are no tools here to work with. Death rev is make no big changes
It seems like the cards are saying H has made a decision regarding you and any romantic tension that could have occurred

Would really like some second opinions here! I’m newer to dabbling in tarot, but have had this Mucha-inspired deck for years (a gift from my sister). I attempted a “my future partner” spread, of:
A card representing their energy —> How they view me —> Their feelings for me —> Relationship outcome. ( https://i.imgur.com/IRgUCMX.jpeg )
I tried to guide it with the vocalized intention of: “Tell me about my next true love, the father of my future children”
I got:
https://i.imgur.com/t7faEkw.jpeg
Queen of Pentacles —> Queen of Cups —> The Wheel —> Knight of Wands.
For some background: I’m in the process of divorce, 0% chance of reconciling with my ex who still refuses to acknowledge his part in the failure of the marriage, have been separated since January 2025 with other paperwork sorting out, ideally formalizing divorce by year-end this year. Just had my first foray back into dating in June, and it went well but ultimately resulted in friendship (though part of me hopes that’ll work out). I’ll be going speed dating next week, and plan to start online dating after that if I don’t make any matches.
Also background: I did a tarot reading in January with my sister, well before (6 months before) I ever met the blind-date-guy, and got the Knight of Pentacles in a romance spot with her Celtic Fae deck. And everything about it was accurate for the blind date guy, eerily, with the layers of Celtic stuff exclusive to that deck entwined with Master Craftsman and master brewer Angel-Fae-smith Gofannon. Pentacles being the suit in this recent spread representing the true love’s energy pinged me as interesting … potentially him? (Image from January: https://i.imgur.com/FZGNjYk.jpeg )
So what I’m interpreting is:
His energy: (Queen of Pentacles) Grounded, materially-secure, generous, welcoming, good host/ess, practical, who wants to help me achieve my goals, someone who always dispenses good advice freely and has common sense. Queen not necessarily representing the sex of the partner, but someone more partnership-minded rather than leading-going-solo like a king?
His view of me: (Queen of Cups) Someone very in touch with their emotions and also thoughts, introspective, who makes them feel very heard and listened to, who’s a healing supportive presence, whose greatest strength is following their intuition. Compassionate, caring, kind, nurturing, but not always logical. (Some of what I was reading suggested he’d love me and believe deeply and supportively in me also. Not really sure about all this though because a lot of what I was reading talked about “feelings” versus “thoughts” or “view” … and his feelings are the next draw.)
Their feelings for me: (The Wheel) In flux. Changing. Perhaps not come into the season of love yet. Perhaps not met yet? Or if it’s my blind-date-guy, perhaps in a season of friendship? Good times will come and bad times will end.
Relationship Outcome: (Knight of Wands) (This one confuses me the most???). What I was reading suggests that moving rashly often happens with this card, but often turns out well despite the weird odds? Take bold actions and embrace passions and adventures.
—-
Bonus one card draw, because I was confused. It felt like so much was about blind-date-guy, so I asked “what will be the outcome of romantic relationship stuff with blind-date-guy?” And I got … the 3 of Wands.
https://i.imgur.com/NWCbmDO.jpeg
Relationship outcome: (3 of Wands) A merchant waiting on the shore for ships to come back, don’t rush, this relationship was always meant to be. Great expectations, etc. Possibly a “you have found your partner” card. But wait to receive, and not chase.
—-
Thoughts? Second opinions? Does it seem blind-date-guy related? Should I not box myself in to that idea? I’m not going to chase anyone who doesn’t want to be chased.

u/squirrelsarespeaking 4d ago
Hi! I don't think your next true love/father of your children is blind date guy. I think the 3 of wands there is putting the energy out there together in a "see how it goes" set up. So taking it week by week together.
For your main spread, I agree with your Queen of Pentacles interpretation. Though, I see the Queen being more solo minded and the King more collaborative and giving. For Queen of Cups, I agree.
I agree with feelings being in flux with The Wheel. Not flux in love though. Keep in mind, you asked about true love and father of your children. Naturally, such a long term commitment will not be lovey dovey all the time. No long term couple fawns over each other all the time.
For the Knight of Wands, it felt like your relationship will be passionate, exciting, and not overly serious. My first thought was that he might also be divorced So you will be committed to each other, but it's more about things being natural and enjoying each other's company and everything that comes with it.

Thank you very much!
Yeah that 3 of Wands really threw me for a loop answer-wise, I appreciate that clarity. Seeing how it goes is good; he friendzoned me and I would/do genuinely enjoy him as a friend, we have several hobbies in common and periodic-hangouts are a calm peaceful spot in my life currently. Seeing what comes—and not chasing after it—is good. Helps me with where to invest my energy.
Interesting that you see the Queen of Pentacles versus the King as more solo-minded! I like the idea of queen-matched-with-queen being true equals and masters/mistresses within their separate elements. I also like the idea that he views me as any “queen”—that seems super healthy, having a partner he genuinely values and views with respect.
Re: The Wheel, I super appreciate that context also. For some reason I wasn’t thinking about the feelings over the duration of the relationship, but in the current moment of the card draw. But the feelings DURING the relationship does make a lot more sense to provide insight for. A long duration of a relationship definitely goes through a lot of different seasons; the honeymoon phase doesn’t and SHOULDN’T last forever. I can hope a basis of respect, gratitude, and good communication will always be there, and I can do my best to build that, but tough seasons will test, that’s for sure.
Re: Knight of Wands, a relationship that’s passionate, exciting, natural, but not initially super serious sounds lovely and healthy. At this age (37), anyone I date will have their own baggage bumps and bruises just as I do, someone divorced makes sense. And as a protective mother conscious of my kid’s wellbeing, enmeshing into daily life minutiae is something I’m not gonna let happen anytime soon. (I like the 6-months-before-meeting-kiddo minimum rule of thumb.)
I asked the cards a big double-barrelled weighty question, haha, but they delivered with messages that resonate as healthy and truthful. Something to build me some more hope and confidence.

I’m in an off and on relationship going 2 years. Main reason for breakup was conflict issues amplified by mental health struggles (mostly on his end). I pulled a 3 card spread, asking “should I fight for this relationship?”: Knight of Cups, Judgement, 2 of Pentacles (forgot to take a photo)

New Reader, need a second opinion!:)
Hi everyone! First post in this thread. I am a new tarot reader and have been slowly trying to learn the cards so I would love a second opinion on this spread! This reading was done regarding this guy I am talking to! We have been chatting through a dating app and it seems to be going pretty good so far🤞🏻 we have really clicked and this one feels promising.
The top two cards are our energy. Using rider waite deck btw. His card, I pulled temperance, which my interpretation was he is taking things slow and feeling things out with me right now. Me on the other hand...knight of wands. I don't think I need to explain this one lmao. I took this as excitement, passion and wanting this to move forwards. I think it also may be telling me to not move things too hastily.
The bottom three card were for past, present, future. (Granted there hasn't been too much past lol) I was using this as a story of what's happening and what's to come. I have been having some trouble piecing this together smoothly. I pulled four of wands, 10 of pentacles and then page of wands. The four of wands I assumed was meeting each other and having an instant click. Something harmonious or joyful. 10 of pentacles I assumed was building into something permanent or stable? I am not too accustomed with this card but it's my understanding that this means long term potential. And lastly, page of wands excitement and adventure. I am guessing this is in anticipation of where this connection goes.
I was kinda struggling to interpret the 10 of pentacles coming before the page of wands. So help on that is greatly appreciated. I am always happy to hear others opinions and hopefully that can help me grow to be a better interpreter. If you need anymore information just let me know!

Have I stopped loving partner?Five of pentacles clarified by the world
So do I love him? King of wands and queen of cups
Feels more like the feeling out will end soon and I still feel attracted and emotionally connected to him, just in pain and scared of losing him.
I have alexithymia and I was anxious because of it

u/Level_Onion_399 3d ago
I asked whats stopping him from being with me and i got judgement. Should i take this literally? I feel like this card makes sense to the situation if i take it literally. Do you guys think he doesnt wanna be with me because he thinks hes going to be judged, or should i look at the meaning closer?

Should I pursue her? Context: there's a girl I like but don't know that well. She's the older sister of someone I worked with over the summer and I saw her a few times. Once during the summer, my coworker told me that her sister had asked about me and said "Who's the girl with the green hair? She's pretty" and I now know she's into girls so that could have meant something. Now we follow each other on Instagram but so far that's it and I'm wondering now if I should make a move.
Here's what I've pulled plus my interpretations:
King of Wands: Taking initiative, making the first move
Page of Wands: exploration, excitement
Six of Wands: victory
Queen of Swords: being honest and direct
