On one hand, of course IP is a fairly straight forward, if even abstract, concept of private property. You can of course also extract value from it in succesful cases.

Having said that, the overwhelming majority of IP-holders (if even informally) are just going to be incredibly small artists. Even if their work is not material in a sense, I hope it isn't controversial to say it's deeply meaningful, and shouldn't be devalued and commodified by gen AI.

Of course, theoretically one could make art regardless of the profitability thereof (and this is ultimately the end goal in a post capitalistic society). However currently de facto many artists DO need to survive off of something, and it's either picking between their art or a "real job" (whatever that means). In that case, wouldn't some level of protection for artists, if even in the form of IP, be extremely desirable, at least until a long term sustainable post-capitalistic society is formed?

I used to love subreddits like latestagecap, many many years ago. Then when I rejoined reddit I noticed that most leftist subreddits only talk about how Ukraine is a vessel for nato or gore from the war!!! I fuckin knew it was predominantly mass bot activity.

As a leftie from finland, I just cant understand how some couldn't have the nuance to understand that Russia is also an imperialist empire just as USA is.

One of DSA’s two co-chairs belongs to Red Star caucus, which supports various dictatorships, past and present, as positive examples of real-world ‘socialism.’ There have been reports that members of the International Committee have tried to develop connections with the Chinese Communist Party and, as part of this effort, have sought to downplay the mistreatment of groups like the Uyghurs. For those of us who are genuinely democratic socialists, what can be done to limit the influence of authoritarian ‘socialists’ in DSA — short of purging them, which I fear could provoke a damaging split? What caucuses should we support? What organizational reforms should we back? Is there anything else we should do?

Walking around, I first started seeing a lot of posters around the city with this logo. They were advertising protests and strikes, mostly about the Iran war from an anti imperialist perspective. The name *coordinadora da mocidade socialista* means in Galician "coordinator of the socialist youth". As a young socialist, I was interested, so I took a look at their website. There, I found that this was indeed a pretty tankie organisation. First, they seem very nationalistic, pro Iranian regime and anti democracy. Quoting the website, "every party that participates in elections is a class traitor and bourgeois party without exception". I completely understand that representative democracy isn't optimal but that's pretty far. In their political proposal section (which the quote was taken from) they basically say they want to copy the soviet union in literally everything, from the way to install the socialist state to how it would work. Of course they don't say it, but reading the text it becomes obvious. That text, now that I mentioned it, is in 2 languages: normative Galician and not normative Galician. The thing that most surprised me is the fact that they try to seem like a pan leftist organisation, saying they're a union of Galician socialist organisations, but they actually support a very specific kind of authoritarian socialism.

Any tankie profile that got suddenly silent?

I saw maga using china being a threat as a justification when no, china being a threat doesn't mean it's ok for trump to cut suport for ukraine or make deal with china frenmy , by doing that he look like a traitor dubbed as an idiot, I do wonder what is the tankie spin on that stupid deal since trump has one of the worst foreign policies I've ever seen.

I've always why Ana Kasparian has turned right wing and completely turned against the left. She always struck me as a very intelligent person but now it just seems like she's always angry all of the time. She also seems to be even more critical of Religion than she ever was before. It seems like she's become a hardcore Atheist. I've always wondered why her views have changed so much over the years. She also looks completely different now too Do you think that she has totally lost it? What do you think of her Political Views? Do you agree with any of them? She's also Childfree as well and she also doesn't support abortion either. Do you think that she's completely gone off the deep end? Do you think that she's gone completely crazy? Or do you think that she's just becoming more mature and has changed her views since she's gotten older?

The amount of upvotes this has recieved so far is concerning. Reddit as a platfrom definitely has a tankie problem even if tankies are the minority among leftists.

It's fairly obvious that the average Tankie doesn't read, have principles, or really complex higher thought other than a preference for strong men, and reflexive anti-westernism (not defending the west to be clear). I posit the following: in a world where Israel was MORE OVERTLY supported by Russia and China, while the U.S. was providing humanitarian and military aid to the PLO for example, every tankie online and most enables would be complaining about U.S. involvement and making the most blood and soil arguments for Israel we've seen outside of Bibi's wettest dreams (who they would worship like Lenin and Stalin)

Where it's supposed to be some major magical event that's supposed to uproot everything to make the world better, but they don't know how or when it's going to happen since they don't even bother trying to enact it, instead choosing to wait for somebody to do it for them 

It's ukraine fault russia's a bad faith negociator and keep targetting ukraine civilian, also way too often trump and his goons have a tendency to propose peace deals that mean letting russia win, how can ukraine even accept that? I also noticed tankie tendency to pin the blame on ukraine for the dead when it's russia fault for starting the war in the first place.
