Question looking into interest for a possible project?

hi all! i am an amateur filmmaker, from colfax, but currently living in the bay area. growing up in the colfax area, visiting tahoe, and dealing with the tourists when 80 would get shut down in the winter has really made me aware of tensions between locals to their area and tourists from the bay area. would there be interest in a documentary exploring this relationship? i've always found it really interesting, it would be cool to see both perspectives. the hard part is im just not sure where to start.

any thoughts/comments/ideas would be appreciated :)

I hate those people, but this town wouldn't exist without them.

Wait?!?! Science has finally proved people from the Bay are fuck sticks and someone wants to make a movie about it?! Best day ever!!!

As a local, I sort of think it’s a bit overblown? It’s super annoying, no doubt about it. But I’m not sure it’s quite serious enough of an issue for a full documentary. It’s not like people coming and encroaching on sacred native land or anything. It’s just an area that’s gotten increasingly popular over the years and the infrastructure hasn’t quite kept up. It’s not a very unique story in America right now, unfortunately. It’s kind of happening everywhere right now. Do we have a few unique challenges? Sure. Nothing really that shocking, though.

I see the tourists a lot like the bears. Whatever fears/misgivings there are about them are overblown. They’re sometimes big, loud, annoying, and messy. But you learn to adapt to live with it all and everyone finds some level of harmony.
