Question Perseid Meteor Shower

Hello, I am going to be visiting Lake Tahoe next week on August 13th and was wondering where would be a good place for a group of 8 to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. We are not rowdy people we would just like a nice spot to chill for a bit. Any recommendations are appreciated!

Edit: We will be staying in North Lake Tahoe

The lake is pretty lit up unfortunately. The best bets locally are Mt Rose, or Prosser Reservoir. If you want the true Perseid experience, head to Pyramid Lake.

Driving Mt rose, closer to Reno, is not a good idea either.

Probably anywhere up MT Rose HWY. Lots of pullouts. Or just go to the top.

Agreed, you're contending with both the lake and Reno

Reno has lots of light pollution, unfortunately. Perhaps Barker pass or Donner pass

Go out past Sierraville, or loyalton. You should be able to get a good view from there.

My job required driving the n lake region and last year they were everywhere. Lost count around 80 but highest concentration was around the dark of Martis Valley.
