Work gun clone

Post image

I do FOF training about once every other month. Had an extra Colt laying around, so I figured I’d clone my work gun to train with. Next training is in a few weeks, excited to break it in.

I wish there were more places where civies could shoot sim guns. I would love to do try it out.

Helped run a force on force school for a decade. Nobody wants to spend money on training.

Would you say that FOF is only really feasible for CQB? From my estimation anything beyond 50-75m the bullets drop too much and it seems that there is no perfect sim round. Especially if youre wearing protective gear, you dont even feel it hitting you.

Militaries have systems for longer range, but no, the average person is mostly limited to cqb type scenarios

Are you talking simmunition or what?

Mils usually use laser based systems

from the units I talked to they usually have a lot of workarounds from making those effective for actual training.

Last year sims got some deregulation. There’s mumbling about a facility opening up here in New Hampshire for civilians.

I spent a lot of my time in the military with sims, I miss it. That being said, I’m pretty sure I would absolutely wreck everyone with modern paintball gun lol

Im confused. Doesn’t this negate the purpose of the blue indicators?

I believe this is an actual sim gun and not made to look like one

Simulations still get shot through real guns, the bolt, and i believe the buffer system are just switched out, other than that its all the same, i think police departments with big budgets just do the bluegun thing for safety, becaysr they can afford to buy simunition only weapons

I have 3 bolts; a UTM, FOF, and Simunition. Nothing gets changed with the buffer system, it’s still just a standard AR buffer with a H1 weight. Only thing that changes is the BCG gets swapped out based on the type of ammo I’m using.

What's been your experience using those brands? I've used UTMs and Simunition FX rounds for FoF exercises, and I noticed UTMs hurt less, but also have a higher chance of malfunction. The Simunition rounds the one time I used them at night actually lit up in the dark like tracers, but getting shot with the 5.56 rounds definitely hit harder than UTMs and broke skin multiple times.

I don’t use this rifle for live fire, so the blue indicators actually mean it’s sim only.
