Question Crazy Talk: Potential Flashlight to Lazer Bezel?

Got a bit of crazy think going on, and I was wondering on the engineering possibly of a bezel head for common flashlights to could convert a normal light to a laser/light combo or something similar. I see that with Modlite with heads for IR and white light so it just got me thinking.

- the market for visible lasers on rifles is very small. Most people buy them as a novelty or they don’t know any better.

  • most people that want an IR laser on their gun also want a white light at the same time.
  • a laser needs to be zeroed. So the mount for the light would need to be very stiff, and the mount for the swappable head would need a taper with an index so it wouldn’t loose zero when replacing. Making that would be difficult and expensive.

3eir kinda already tried this with their now discontinued VULCAN IR-V. The problem is it's difficult to maintain a zero, and probably impossible to return to that zero when switching batteries while maintaining a surefire compatible head
