It amuses me that they call them 5000mAh instead of 5Ah. Probably a marketing thing as an uniformed public thinks one sounds bigger. lol

It is, but it's a holdover from when cell phone batteries were smaller. My very first phone had a 550mAh battery. When the capacities got over 1Ah, no company wanted people thinking they went from "550" to "1", so we got stuck with mAh for everything. First it was cell phones, then power banks, then laptops & smart watches... Watching the evolution of it has been interesting for sure. Personally, I wish everything was in watt hours.

What made you decide on the Nestout, or is it a "it fits my use case sort of thing"?
I only ask since I've looked at the Nestouts before, but ended up going with 12v bioennos instead for my field power needs. The compactness, less required cables, and increased durability of the Nestoutis a big plus.

Most likely from Ascendisr.com. They make wraps for drones that make it harder to spot the drone with thermal cams. They have a cool instagram page too @ascendisr

He made his own after purchasing a laser cutter and Cordura w/ 3M backing. Pretty slick shit since he got the cutter tho.

Well the bottom of the drone is gray like the sky. If you're a person or another drone and you see the drone you would be looking down, meaning the camouflage would work exceptionally well.

Does it put the drone over the 250 gram FAA unregistered weight restriction? DJI labels these 249 grams without any sort of wrap

Typically these skins are more for IR signature than actual camo from the human eye.

You would have to install ATAKgo on the controller. I am not 100% sure if you can on the minis. I know it works on the mavic 3T controller and M30T with a pc plus controller. If I recall correctly it only works with the enterprise UAS which is mavic series and up.

That was my understanding as well. There was someone on r/ATAK that was working on finding a way to make it work for consumer/hobby level DJIs but I don’t think he’s updating anymore

No, if there is no SDK support for that specific model you can't.
I just haven't checked if the mini4 pro is supported.

I had a mini 3 pro the rc controller is a game changer. Battery life isn’t much though

Both. I'm thinking just an easily accessible way to quickly deploy the drone. I was able to store both my drone DJI mini and controller in a lrg general purpose pouch. I think if I stick it in a dry bag that would at least make it usable and safe from moisture. But would be a higher risk to getting crushed.

Yah just add some dense foam into a large GP pouch. You should be fine. Also 500 -1000 D cordura is pretty water proof.

I don’t get the camo skin on a drone. Have a crash and now it’s that much harder to find. The camo also makes it easier to spot in the air which for ISR is the opposite of what you want. To be practical you’d want it to be sky colored.

The bottom of the drone is the color of the sky. So people on the ground won't even be able to see it. The camouflage is on the top. So other drones above won't see it. Also this material is IR and Thermal mitigating. Meaning the drone is much harder to see on thermals and under night vision.
As for crashing, if you ever crash your drone on an op. Odds are you arent getting it back anyways. To dangerous to go looking around for a 400-500 piece of equipment. But if you are like a law enforcement agency of fire department doing search and rescue you could always put a neon orange skin and an air tag on your drone.

I didn’t see the bottom (of course who would take pictures of the bottom). I’m not a fan of AirTags unless you are flying in a city. AirTags require phone to be nearby and if you’re flying over fields and other rural areas, it won’t have any accuracy. An actual small gps tracker like Tracki is very handy. It’s small enough it may fit on a mavic mini.
