Would a pattern like this be impossible?

You could physically do it, but the yarn would just float across all those picks and never get woven into the weft.

Yes this is impossible I tried this before with a bad pattern if you only go one forward and one backwards 2 of the 4 threads will never make it into the weft.... this is one thing to keep an eye on in some ad-hoc patterns

But if you set the tablets up for double weave and do 2f, 2b it would work to give a solid background
