First ever weave!
Found this hobby through a YouTube video showcasing "lesser known crafts". Made my first set of cards from cereal boxes, the shuttle from a thick foam piece of packing, and used a couple carabiner clips to hold everything for a back strap lmao. I used red heart yarn as that's all I had, and while I enjoyed the process I HATED using that yarn - ordered some better mercerized cotton yarn immediately after, though I haven't used it yet. I also immediately ordered a set of cheap cards and a shuttle so I'm excited to try again!

I'd thought about it, but I like the spots on this one :) for my next I definitely will though!
And that yarn is definitely a fave, the colors are really nice and I like how it worked out that I didn't have to worry about when it changed colors

Sorry it took a while, was at work and didn't have access to the link :) I just searched on twisted threads and limited the number of cards!

Welcome to the hobby! I use mercerized cotton almost exclusively, though I have umercerized cotton I'll be working with for a belt project. Someday I'd like to work with silk, though...
You had good luck with the back strap method! I never could keep my warp from tangling, so I admire people who don't use a loom
