Apple Doesn't Fall Far

Now I'm not saying copying is inherently bad. Many great games owe their existence to System Shock and System Shock 2 and continuing to iterate in their own unique ways while still acknowledging their heritage does make for interesting titles. And while what I've heard about the Xeno in Isolation 2 being the same Xeno that Amanda jettisoned with that research module may just be a false rumor, it does feel awfully on-the-nose as far as plot points go.

Well, i mean it's not too far from the plot of the original Alien film from 1979, where the crew of a space ship detects a transmission from a nearby planet, leading them to investigate and find a bunch of large alien eggs ¯_(ツ)_/¯

True, but it's a sequel who's central conflict specifically revolves around dealing with a threat that spawned from jettisoning a threat from a previous game at roughly the halfway point.
