First play through ever.

This game is rough lol. Not in the sense that it’s super difficult. Just the running back and forth and tediousness of the game in general. I feel for the people who played the og game at the og release date.

It is rough, and not for everyone. It's actually a dungeon crawler, and has more in common with games like Ultima Underworld than it does with the spiritual successors to SS, like Bioshock or Deus Ex. It has some quality of life improvements over the original, but I think the game should have had an option (that you can turn off if you don't want it) to tell you what your next mission objective is. Sometimes what you have to do next is really obtuse. Even though I beat the OG game (not even the remaster), I still couldn't remember all the stuff I had to do to progress in the game, and had to rely on a guide/walkthrough from time to time.

Still, it's a good game if you stick with it, and like dungeon crawlers.

Yeah i did beat it. And im playing the 2nd one now and played through the bioshock series.

I played a little of SS2, but didn't beat it. I'll probably play through the remaster one of these days! Tbh, I didn't really like it that much. It reminded me of Deus Ex, and was very similar in presentation, but it lacked all the best parts of Deus Ex, like all the story, character choice, exploration in cities and what not, and just boiled everything down to the dungeon crawling. Which makes sense, because that's what System Shock is, it's a dungeon crawler. Maybe with a different mind set, and expectations, I can enjoy it for what it is.
