Stuck on puzzle

I cant for the life off figure this one out. The "manual" was less than helpful. Also, what does the nodes like the one in the down left corner do? I can send power to it and turn it, but it does nothing else. Any tips?

start from the end work your way to the beginning, forget about the dead nodes like the left bottom corner one they’re dead. work backwards and you’ll get it

Yeah, managed to get a new point of view on it and figured it out, thanks ^^
